4. Mars bar (particularly the old king size ones)
5. Mint Club (biscuit or chocolate bar?)

Hold on - warped this. Chocolate biscuits doesn't include chocolate biscuits?!?!?!
Bizarre.
Chocolate biscuits should start with chocolate digestives and chocolate hob-nobs.

Re: Top 5 of all time...
No, there’s 3 quite clear categories here if you pay attention Worthy. Chocolate bars we have just done, chocolate biscuits that are generally wrapped individually and in packets for your lunch box and biscuits you have with a cuppa such as borbons, digestives and custard creams, some may have chocolate on, that is true, but clearly not the same category. Really Worthy, I know you’re getting on a bit but do try and keep up!Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 4:43 pmHold on - warped this. Chocolate biscuits doesn't include chocolate biscuits?!?!?!

Woah. Woah. Woah! We need an independent adjudicator to determine categories and what goes in them. You can’t have minstrels in with chocolate bars, just because you like them! Similarly, Kit Kat chunky is primarily chocolate and thus a chocolate bar. You can’t go allocating categories willy nilly. This is serious business!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 4:48 pmNo, there’s 3 quite clear categories here if you pay attention Worthy. I agree. To qualify as a biscuit, dunkability needs to come into it. Only a weirdo would dunk a Twix.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 5:54 pmWoah. Woah. Woah! Re: Top 5 of all time...
A KitKat chunky is clearly far more of a chocolate bar than mini eggs or minstrels, what with it being, you know, a bar.

Which category do Viscounts come under?

Re: Top 5 of all time...
It's a cake for VAT purposes. Goes hard when it goes off whereas a biscuit goes soft was one of the factors. They even took don't along for the judges.
Though one think that's always baffled me is it being a cake meant it wasn't VATable, as cakes are not luxuries where as biscuits are. Wtf?! Decadent bastards.

You don't find any "Let them eat biscuits" type famous quotations. Cake is clearly an established necessity of the proletariat.Prufrock wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 6:56 pmIt's a cake for VAT purposes. tunnocks caramel wafers

I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest a 4th category (controversial, I know) for miscellaneous chocolate items to incorporate tunnocks tea cakes, snowballs etc. All in agreement, raise your right handAbdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 7:08 pmAs I 'work in the industry' I can tell you...

Ok, here are the top 5 chocolate bars by unit sales in my little corner of Skye...
January
1. Kitkat Chunky
2. Dairy Milk £1 bar
3. Galaxy Milk £1 bar
4. Frys Peppermint Cream
5. Aero Mint £1 bar
And just below the dotted line, Yorkie Milk Chocolate.
February
1. Dairy Milk £1 bar
2. Yorkie Milk Chocolate
3. Frys peppermint Cream
4. Aero Mint £1 bar
5. Galaxy Milk Std bar
And in 6th place Galaxy Milk £1 bar
Clearly everyone was skint in February as sales were down over 50% on January.
Non-chocolate related news for Irn Bru fans: Irn Bru 1901 is back this week and is here to stay.

Interesting that Kit Kat chunky was top of the hit parade in January, then dropped like a stone. Were they on offer?
