Re: Dirty Old Town, Salford City (A) - Tues 13 April 19:00 KO
I couldn't face iFollow this evening so it's Jeff and the good people of TW I'll be relying on. I'd take a point now but it would be awesome if we could ruin their home record.
Like ICB ^ I'd take a punt on Elbouzadi tonight and hope his pace can stretch them and provide a few gaps.
Not confident though. 0-1 loss

I'd go Dapo-Lee-Isgrove in the 3 of the 4231, although with Lee motoring up and down to help us win in midfield it's more of a 4-3-3 – with MJ sat behind Tomo and Lee as the Warhurst to their Farrelly and Nolan. I know Lee isn't historically a goalscorer but he keeps getting into good positions and at the very least that distracts defenders; I do expect him to score one or two between here and the flag, and we will love him all the more for it.
Post-Maddison we now have one fewer card to play from the bench, so I'd keep back the options of Elbo for his pace, Delf for a focused half-hour and Arthur for his royal highnessness. I don't quite buy the Dapo derision, although I appreciate an end product would help.

With Sarce still missing and now Madison, not Miller for scoring a late goal then D.S.B.?

Always a possibility. Five substitutions possible and Evatt likes his attacking options on the bench. But I do feel he's more of a like-for-like replacement for Doyler, especially in a three-game week and with Evatt applauding Eoin's workrate. With a two-goal cushion, the Salford home game was the earliest Evatt's ever voluntarily subbed Doyle (he came off earlier when injured at Cambridge) and I suspect he'd love a similar option tonight.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 5:51 pmWith Sarce still missing and now Madison, not Miller for scoring a late goal then D.S.B.?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 5:31 pmI'd go Dapo-Lee-Isgrove in the 3 of the 4231, although with Lee motoring up and down to help us win in midfield it's more of a 4-3-3 – with MJ sat behind Tomo and Lee as the Warhurst to their Farrelly and Nolan. Dapo very lucky to be starting IMO. Owes us a performance.
Delaney the extra sub, still no keeper.

Suspect he’s got Delaney on there to chuck on for late free kicks and corners. Either end!

Delaney! Forgot about him. Quite liked him but he had a horrendous run before getting dropped. Is greenidge still in.the building?

Dilemma tonight. For the first time in a very long time I could tune in and watch. Problem being I have a long history of us losing when I watch on the telly and I'm not sure even the kettle could could make up for me

Interesting idea. Maybe Saturday's opponents persuaded Evatt he could do with an extra big'un. Or maybe he just wants another defensive option if we're seeing out a game rather than chasing it.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:13 pmSuspect he’s got Delaney on there to chuck on for late free kicks and corners. Delaney hasn't figured even as an unused sub since his comic clipreel of a game at Tranmere – the last before The Run. Even Comley's been on the bench - five times - since then. But there aren't a lot of grown-up alternatives - Sarce injured, Maddison gone - I can only see Greenidge, who hasn't played a minute since his red card against Crawley (the last game we started with a back three) and has only even been an unused sub once. Jensen, of course, but we know the gaffer's not always bothered about a keeper.

I think there’s as much chance of Delaney being thrown on if we are 1-0 down than 1-0 up, corners, free kicks etc he would offer more of a threat than anyone else. Or possibly a knock to one of the centre backs.

Talk on Marc Iles site about Salford never having been beaten at home, well neither had Red Star Belgrade ever, till they played us.. ..

All the money they’ve spent on player wages and they couldn’t invest a bit into the pitch. Tinpot

Dreadful pitch.
Re: Dirty Old Town, Salford City (A) - Tues 13 April 19:00 KO
I'd be telling em to ping shots on this keeper. He's not been the most confident with his clearances.

Keiran Lee's at it again.
How the feck that hasn't gone in I'll never know.
edit: Doyler too.
