Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
It’s cute that people thought England had a chance of winning this.
I mean honestly we were chasing 270 not 70.
No doubt the serial failure of our batters will just be ignored rather than someone getting a grip ala Morgan and Strauss. We will just be allowed to drift with no accountability no leadership and no repercussions.

Well and truly thrashed. Some serious homework to be done.

Just before Burns was out, winviz had us at >50% for the first time this series. We definitely had a chance at that point.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 10:56 amIt’s cute that people thought England had a chance of winning this.

Third highest scorer for the innings on a towering 13? Extras!

Hahaha. Yeah….a team with test level batting would have a chance. We aren’t even a good first class team.jimbo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 11:03 amJust before Burns was out, winviz had us at >50% for the first time this series. Probably a good thing as it shows how far off being up with the best test sides we are. Inconsistency is our main fault as nobody in the side (batsmen) can be relied on to turn in a solid innings. This was a real shocker of an innings and there's nothing worse hen losing to Oz. We won't hear the last of it for a fair while...

I'm going to celebrate. Anyone remember last time we were 50 without loss?
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
200 left to win, having raced along to 68-0. New ball seen off, fielders will have been starting to drop back. At that stage you’re only a couple of solid partnerships away from getting there. Still work to do, but it’s definitely a chance.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 11:09 amHahaha. Yeah….a team with test level batting would have a chance. Cook's just done then a huge disservice saying the Australians found it too easy to take the 100 wickets needed when by my maths they only took 99.

Inconsistency? I disagree. We are the most consistent side I’ve ever seen. Consistently bad. But not inconsistent.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 11:21 amProbably a good thing as it shows how far off being up with the best test sides we are. No surprise, you'll disagree with St Peter when he says "No entry"...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 12:24 pmInconsistency? I disagree. We are the most consistent side I’ve ever seen. I see our T20 batsmen have been paying close attention to their Test match counterparts.

Were the first 3 out trying to play a decent forward defensive?nicholaldo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:13 pmI see our T20 batsmen have been paying close attention to their Test match counterparts.

They seem to have taken the Test match batsmen's ineptness and added their own particular spin on it. This includes, but is not limited to, missing middle-stump full tosses and holing out to rank bad wide deliveries.

Well, so much for there being too much emphasis on the short game
