Only our second draw since the home Stockport game! (And the away Stockport game, sort of, but not really.)

Results really didn't go for us either. Too many decent solid teams between 4th and 10th. I'm still sticking with 8th because we'll win a few more.

Agreed on this. I actually thought half-time came at a useful point for us, we needed to regroup and get zen. But we came out looking very similar: they pressed us high, hoping we'd be rattled, and it worked and set the tone.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 10:17 pmHalf time should have been about calming down and playing our football. I suspect it wasn’t we went gung ho and made a few mistakes and could have been two down.

For me there are two options. Pen them in and pummel the box. We’ve seen ourselves eventually you will crack most of the time. Or get down the sides and work opportunities that way. Too often we get John one and one and it goes back into midfield. And nothing much went down the other side second half as Aimson looks a bit useless and it meant Fossey had no foil.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 10:14 pmYou can't play in behind a team standing on the 18-yard line. And wanging in crosses is what they want. But I agree we didn't ask enough questions by passing.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 10:11 pmToo slow. Too much nonsense backwards and sideways.
Johnstone shocking.
Will we learn not to play in front of teams? Someone needs to seriously work on them. Too many turn round rather than commit. Not good.
Small side note - we play the ball slightly behind the player so often I'm starting to think it's purposeful. Surely instead we should be playing a yard in front of them, so they can power on and ask questions. I feel like a lot of players lost their nerve tonight.
Dapo was awful. But let’s be honest our weakness is still the centre of midfield and the back three. Big improvements still possible there. MJ and Morley for me both struggled to really impose themselves on the game tonight.

I think they squeezed the defense and midfield well. They stopped us finding the gaps. We ignored Johnston overlapping a few times as well. MJ and Morley were ok tonight but when we went behind there wasn’t enough happening in front, and we lost our cool.

Just in case you missed it
Re: "Not necessarily in the right order" .Home v Morecambe, Tuesday, March 8th, 8-0'clock
Could hardly have been a worse set of results.
Agree that 8th is still the most likely finish
As you said there are too many teams to climb past.
It’s a funny table
We are nearer to 5th place than we are to the team below us

You may want to watch Morley a little closer. Absolutely bossed the first 45. Struggled more in second half as he was like the Lone Ranger. Think he made more passes than anyone and over half of what Morecambe managed in 90 minutes. More I watch, more I think Morley and Dempsey are our best two.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 10:28 pmFor me there are two options. Pen them in and pummel the box. I actually thought Flossie had one of his poorer games overall, his control let him down a lot.
Dapo, really not in right position for me. He's looked sub-par against his high standard since we adopted this new system...

It's goals that count. Says it. And thus the Fyfes waggon spilled bananas over our paths, off our boots and we even headed some. Best teams, best players, what matter, all that does is the score, and boy did we show how not to do that. They didn't score, we almost presented them with the softest three points ever. We were lucky, to say the least. This was a game we were supposed to walk. Credit to their keeper who totally commanded his area and nullified our corners with ease.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 10:12 pm
If Charles puts that chance away - at least the third golden chance he's missed in two games, BTW - then we go on to win comfortably IMO, unless they manage to con the ref into four red cards. But if me aunty were me uncle...
I'd have had that Adams fella off before half time. If ever a man was asking . The whole lot of them were disgusting. I just hope we learn something. There's no option.....I hear the suggestion of playing Charles deeper, but he's a striker and wants to score. Dapo, he's on vacation and is having an attitude problem, where's the hunger? but he isn't alone. Dadbod needs to play from the off. Way to go even if we were lucky enough to get promoted, play like tonight in a league above and we'd soon be back down.

Great stat. Curious bunching. A lot of good teams in this division. Pity is only three of them will go up!

I've never in my life seen a side's performance turn from utter poetry to such absolute disjointed dogshit on the back of one under-hit backpass in all of my life.
Ah well, that's that then. I for one said that mid table would be a great achievement. It's just the hope the bastards give you.

Can't be arsed saying much about that.
We battered them for most of the first half, then handed them a goal. A lot of players didn't recover mentally from that. We stopped doing everything that was good about our first 40 minutes.
I still don't understand how Charles missed like he did. Holy god.
I had us finishing 5th. It's now 7th and my prediction was knowingly very optimistic.

I had Morley the best of them by a long road tonight.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 10:53 pmYou may want to watch Morley a little closer. Absolutely bossed the first 45. So our promotion might not be a formality???

We do seem to really struggle to play from the back against these type of teams too many times, it would start from the keeper, the wing backs would bomb on too far, Johnston and Santos would play a few sideways passes between themselves before going back to the keeper and slowly putting pressure on ourselves before a wayward pass and loosing the ball.
It's the same from throw-ins it never seems like we have enough people making space from throw-ins and the ball usually ends up back with Trafford from a offensive throw-in.
I think we need to work on finding space better rather than players reverting to there default position in the midfield and being marked out of the pass.

BWFC-I developed an instant dislike for Morley, which he's clinging to resolutely.
No body in a yellow shirt did more ball carrying last night or looked to create more than he did.
If you wait long enough he'll add that Trafford was shit too.
