What position will we finish in? (Pre-season version)
Very simple. You have one day (presumably from right now) to predict our position. You can't change your mind on this vote. 20-option limit so I've squeezed up at the bottom, hoping it will be no concern of ours.
Feel free to reveal and explain your prediction below.

BTW I've gone fifth. I don't (yet) have enough faith that we can eliminate the daft concessions frequently enough to finish higher. I hope I'm wrong.

Gone for 6th. Think we get into the playoffs and then who knows. Be disappointed with less. Pleasantly surprised with more.

I've gone 4th, but I think any assessment of 4th to 8th is basically the same thing. Can't see there being more than a few points in it.

Every single preview I’ve read (ok just 4) has us 5th. Gone for 6th as it’s never straightforward.

Yeah, though I saw us 12th in a couple I think. Always fun to see what people think.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 7:26 pmEvery single preview I’ve read (ok just 4) has us 5th. Gone for 6th as it’s never straightforward.

Gone 4th. Given how vocal the powers that be have been about promotion being the aim, and how impressive our form was post January, I have to believe we have enough for playoffs at least.

I love it. The lower they put us the more bitter they get.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 7:27 pmYeah, though I saw us 12th in a couple I think. 7th. We're a better side and the young lads will benefit from last year's experience BUT it's a tougher division this time round I reckon. Direction of travel is still good though.

Gone 4th. I think some teams have massively improved but some have dropped. I wouldn't be surprised by anywhere in the top ten, but opening day excitement has got me thinking we're better off than it feels. Agree with whoever said if we'd signed the Jan players now we'd be buzzing (though we might also be in L2, tbf)

Gone for 2nd. Past few seasons have started with us struggling so i think we're well aware of our faults and I trust in the staff to make decisions to address them.
We finished strongly. We'll be looking to start strongly and I'm confident the boardroom will be looking to push us on financially for the next step too.
We're in for a good season I suspect. Still I think we'll have missed something to tip us over the edge at top spot.
Hope I don't end up eating my words here. Fingers crossed the mid-season signings can pick up were they left off last season. Doyle and Sarce didn't rip up trees after a successful first season.

7th. I still have doubts about our ability to shut the door at the back. Considering we have an ex CB for manager seems strange.
Hope I’m wrong, would love a playoff spot.

I went for third, but was tempted to go second.
It’s easy to be underwhelmed by our activity this summer, and I get the desire for sexy signings. However, it’s proven that having really weak players in a team has more of an impact on performance than having superstars, so in that sense I think we go into the season in good shape.
I can’t see us having extended losing spells this season as our squad is much deeper now. We’ve retained all our best players, and in Dapo and Santos have two of the best in the division. We’ve still got room to bring players in, and hopefully there are a couple of lads in the B team who will be able to step up.
Oh and we’re going to win the pizza cup.

and one for a first team coach. And the assistant manager played 600 games in defence, some of them in the centre.Frank Drebin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 5:38 amConsidering we have an ex CB for manager seems strange.

Re: What position will we finish in? (Pre-season version)
I've gone 6th. In the past couple of seasons, Evatt's sides have had a far stronger 2nd half to the season, so my hope is that we take 6th whilst bang on form, up against sides who are disconsolate after having missed out on the automatic places.

Aye, not turning December in 17th/22nd position etc. Would be a boonBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 12:45 pmI've gone 6th.
