I kept getting a message telling me to buy flares from Argos. Bizzare.
Hope you bought a pair.

Boo, was hoping for Villa away for a decent gate receipt.
At least there’s a good chance it’ll be on the telebox, right?

First time facing Premier League opposition in any competitive fixture since 17/18, where West Ham knocked us out of the League Cup in round 3 in comprehensive fashion, and Huddersfield edged us out in the FA Cup Third Round.
Re: ‘sal ford a reason: Salford (H, Lge Cup) Tue 9 [email protected]
Tasty fixture that. We've got plenty of cup history in that one to make it somewhat of a mouth watering tie. Suspect it might be televised given our cup history against them, semi finals of FA and League Cup previously.
Re: ‘sal ford a reason: Salford (H, Lge Cup) Tue 9 [email protected]
I was hoping for a League Two side at home, but at least there's now a decent chance we'll be on the telly. Unlikely we progress if Villa decide to take the match seriously, but an outside chance of going through if they play their reserves.

On form third division club vs underperforming premier league outfit - potential upset written all over it.
Just so long as they don't have Holdsworth in the studio.

Really wanted Stockport at home for some payback. Can we not ask the EFL nicely for Villa to be in the 3rd round?

To be honest I wrote that before looking at the rest of the draw. There’s a few other potential TV ties between L1/L2 and Prem opponents that might be selected ahead of ours:Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 9:34 amHas to be, doesn't there?brommers95 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:13 pmAt least there’s a good chance it’ll be on the telebox, right?

Leeds v Barnsley
Fleetwood v Everton
Tranmere v Newcastle
Stockport v Leicester
Grimsby v Forest
Oxford v Palace
Colchester v Brentford
Crawley v Fulham
Cambridge v Southampton
Forest Green v Brighton
I think only two ties are selected for TV…
Re: ‘sal ford a reason: Salford (H, Lge Cup) Tue 9 [email protected]
Would be a kick in the teeth for it to be Stockport and Bin-dippers, but they look the biggest "threat".
Hard to remove bias, but you'd think we'd be the number one choice. Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa, biggest chance of an upset of those three. Fingers crossed. I was hoping for an easy game then Arsenal away...

Thinking about it - isn't the 2nd round draw now geared around us 'lesser lights' drawing a Premier League / Championship side?

Some delicious football after we levelled. Still think we had a gear or two to go through, which is very promising
Iredale has played his way in front of John
Thomasson played well and has improved so much mainly due to increased physicality, but still behind a few others
Bodvarsson is made of silk, but was pretty wasteful with his finishing (apart from the wonderful team goal)
Connor Bradley is, dare I say it, levels above Fossey. What a star in the making!!

Just reading that 15 Champo sides have already gone out. Another will drop tonight (WBA v Sheff U).Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 1:22 pmisn't the 2nd round draw now geared around us 'lesser lights' drawing a Premier League / Championship side?
