75 of the kings pounds. Is that higher than normal?

Just a ploy. As long as folk keep paying, the suppliers will keep upping the charges. Refuse to buy; it was before anyone here was born.

It’s in a box. Boxes aren’t free.
It’s also a limited edition (of 1,923) so it may well retain its value. Some old Wanderers kits sell for that on eBay.

Bit like this one - https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk ... 135214.amp
Which I can’t find second hand for comparison.

Never liked that one anyway! Campo looked like Coco in it. But yeah, that one sells high, from what I've seen. Not that I'm a collector. I just occasionally buy a 'new' (old) one for Monday night old-farts football kickabouts, and I'm regularly surprised by how much folk will pay.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 9:29 amBit like this one - https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk ... 135214.amp

EDIT
Latest laughables:
. .
Clearly people are entitled to ask what they want and maybe won't get a sale, but dear me.
Last shirt I bought was the 18/19 'BetFred' one, for £7.99 when it went off-sale at the Happy Shop. If anyone wants to offer me £75 they can happily have it

I believe the first Reebok sponsored Matchwinner shirts are now a collectors item.

That's good, cos I've got one... not that I bought it as an investment.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 12:55 pmI believe the first Reebok sponsored Matchwinner shirts are now a collectors item.
This area interested me so, albeit delayed by having to watch the PMQs clownshow for work purposes, I had a little dig into eBay. (Tip: you can see how much things have gone for by using the app, searching for something, then filtering by both 'Completed' and 'Sold". Might be useful if you're wondering about selling any family silver to heat or eat this winter.)
So yeah - these are all non-signed, non-'matchworn', bog-standard off-the-peg shirts.
. .
Note the limited-edition "Burnden Disaster 33" one, which bears comparison to the forthcoming 1923 limited editon. I have one of those - not that I'm planning to sell it, and it wouldn't get that price because it's been not only unboxed but wrapped round my fat belly while I lurch round in defence bellowing at mates and kicking kids
For the record, these are the most expensive ones to have been sold, at least over the last three months. We don't quite know how much the Seamus/Deakin/GazFaz ones went for as the offer will be less than the asking price, but it's more than the £319 (!) someone paid for a McAteer shirt.

Re: FA Cup 22/23.
It's a growing market. I consider myself a bit of a collector, and it took me ages to find the last Normid home kit and the first Reebok one at less than £100 each. Better the condition, the better the value.
There are shops out there now that cater exclusively to shirt collectors. This centenary kit might look pricey now at £75, but in years to come, given that it's received glowing comments from football fans around the country, you could easily ask for double or triple that if it's still in box and in good nick.

Interesting. I have some of those in the loft, which I wont ever wear again (couple of sizes too small but also the material is mega itchy!). At what price would I let them go…

Most auction sites let you set a minimum - after that (minus their slice) it's all gravy....

Re: FA Cup 22/23.
I have around half a dozen of those above and have been thinking of sticking them on eBay, but never get around to doing it. Wore the dark Green Reebok shirt to the Barnsley game on Saturday, so am now considering that one jinxed!

I was thinking more the 'White Hot' shirt. I have that one, and also the yellow version which was initially introduced for the Southampton reply.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 1:33 pmThat's good, cos I've got one... not that I bought it as an investment.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 12:55 pmI believe the first Reebok sponsored Matchwinner shirts are now a collectors item.

The F.A.Cup. The words used to set football alight. Just doesn't seem the same now. Is it because we never make any impact that interest has declined?

Re: FA Cup 22/23.
That and lots of other things I think TD. We used to get MOTD and FA Cup games. That was about our diet either at the match or on telly-box. Now we get football pretty much all year round, the Champions League has probably become the prime "Cup" competition with all its money and you can probably count on one hand the number of times the FA cup has been won by a team outside the top 4 recently - there's been a few, but not any from outside of the top division since West Ham in 1980. So it certainly has an air of "why bother" about it...TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 11:58 amThe F.A.Cup. The words used to set football alight. Just doesn't seem the same now. Re: FA Cup 22/23.
The importance of money in the Premier League saturated the FA Cup.
That and the fact you can now play a B team from the leagues above and instead of it being a banana skin, you play at a shit time on a shit day against players who earn more in a day than your entire squad make in a week and still throws himself around to gain an advantage
It aint what it used to be. Unfortunately.
Personally think everyone should join from Round 1 onwards

Re: FA Cup 22/23.
Be nice to actually win an FA Cup game but even at our level you get the feeling most would sacrifice a cup run for a place or two in the league. I mean we’ll even play a changed team this weekend - we could have been a big draw for a non-league team! Money sapped the enthusiasm from it. I wouldn’t get excited for a big game in round 3 for the reasons Boris outlined.
