I think it’s undeniable now. This is our best back three. No ifs, buts or maybes. They play if fit now. All three have been outstanding.
We were superb today it’s just the inability to score.
Dempsey again to me stands out as a player we desperately need to improve on. I’d say Morley arguably too at times as another poster has identified. Presume the big lad is in Monday and I don’t think we need another striker unless it’s one who is a guaranteed 25 goals man.
Feel like Bod and Kachunga had to score their chances. Both looked like must scores in a game like this but need to see it again.

I hope Nlundulu is what we're looking for because the last thing we need is yet another non-scoring striker. He was a waste of space for Cheltenham today apparently.

Interesting that Evatt didn't revert to Jones and Santos, who could now play in the midweek cup game to regain sharpness – and maintain pressure on the incumbents. Never a bad thing.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:16 pmI think it’s undeniable now. This is our best back three. No ifs, buts or maybes. They play if fit now. All three have been outstanding.
Wouldn't surprise me to see Beck also start in the cup, maybe with Williams coming on for the last half-hour to "get some minutes in".

His head is in the beautiful north.

We've battered the league leaders today. This no bad thing.
We've failed to score and capitalise though. This is frustrating.

Great game and very proud of them today.
We, and in particular, Morley, has to improve his dead ball delivery if we're going to nick wins here and there. Easy to see why they are where they are. Said it before - we're not far off.

Have we tried Johnston, Santos and Toal together?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:16 pmI think it’s undeniable now. This is our best back three. No ifs, buts or maybes. They play if fit now. All three have been outstanding.

I've watched it about 30 times and still can't believe it didn't go in.

That was just perfection, anticipation, reaction and execution all at lightening speed. Why on earth would we leave Aimson out?The_Gun wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:53 pmHave we tried Johnston, Santos and Toal together?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:16 pmI think it’s undeniable now. Santos isn’t a great defender. Been saying for ages and the proof is in the pudding.

Evatt said in a post match interview that Santos has been with the B team, with whom it's easier for them to test where he's up to in terms of overall fitness and will start int' cup game. No bad thing indeed.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:22 pmInteresting that Evatt didn't revert to Jones and Santos, who could now play in the midweek cup game to regain sharpness – and maintain pressure on the incumbents. I suspect the point was, it's difficult to undeniably say this is the best three, unless you've seen all permutations...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:11 pmWhy on earth would we leave Aimson out?The_Gun wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:53 pmHave we tried Johnston, Santos and Toal together?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:16 pmI think it’s undeniable now. As it happens, I think Santos now has to bide his time until one of them clearly drops in form, gets injures and or needs a rest. I think that latter eventuality will occur shortly...

Yes it’s up for competition. Which should make anyone better. But this back three has come together on an incredibly hard run of games against some of the best in this league. Conceded one goal in that time. You can I think start to say it’s a big improvement over the back three we had before it. It is.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:23 pmI suspect the point was, it's difficult to undeniably say this is the best three, unless you've seen all permutations...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:11 pmWhy on earth would we leave Aimson out?The_Gun wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:53 pmHave we tried Johnston, Santos and Toal together?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:16 pmI think it’s undeniable now. Meant to remove the attach, but seeing as I didn't, it's the map of Morley's touches...the definition of all over the pitch...

I thought Morley was excellent today.

He’s been noticeably better the past couple of months in terms of work rate and defensive contribution compared to last season and the start of this season. All credit to him.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:46 pmMeant to remove the attach, but seeing as I didn't, it's the map of Morley's touches...the definition of all over the pitch...
