Nlundulu out for a few weeks according to Evatt. So the rumour was true.

According to Evatt it isn't serious, so more of a precaution.

Evatt seemed to imply on the radio that he'd be reacting to Kacha and injuries with additional transfer activity, if possible.

Is that genuine? If so, good.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Evatt said tonight: "Me and Mr Markham need to get our fingers out and get some strikers in the building."
That should offer genuine hope that we're after more than one.

Is now a good time to mention goal keepers?

Any sign of life in that department would be welcome now! Come on Sharon get your cheque book out!GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 12:01 amEvatt seemed to imply on the radio that he'd be reacting to Kacha and injuries with additional transfer activity, if possible.

It is genuine. I hope it was some “thanks for being a pleasure to work with and getting this deal done so swiftly” hospitality rather than some “please please please get your client to sign for us” hospitality.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
That would seem like a pretty odd thing to post if his client wasn't going to sign for us. He'd surely be jeopardising future business with our club if he put up something like that as a way of drumming up interest from others.

I wouldn't put anything past an agent if it means they get a bigger percentage.

That would be the concern, yes.
There are a lot of reputable, borderline honourable agents in the game. We're not discussing one of those, but we are talking about someone who advises more than one player we are interested in - so we should probably all send him cakes and things.

Tom Eaves on loan rumours doing the rounds. Which, er, yeah...I suppose. Why not.

He would fit the Evatt 'experienced striker' mould. No goals record in recent times would worry me.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 10:48 amTom Eaves on loan rumours doing the rounds. Which, er, yeah...I suppose. Why not.
But sounds like we are rightly going to bring two in. So him and Adebayajo would help. Concern with fitness (as in how fit is he?)

Representatives of Burton Albion striker Victor Adeboyejo are understood to have been present at the University of Bolton Stadium yesterday, with Wanderers matching a previous offer from Championship side Wigan Athletic which met the buyout clause in his contract. Millwall have also been linked with the former Barnsley front man, who has scored 13 times this season.
Evatt said he and recruitment chief Chris Markham were in for a “busy week” later outlining exactly what he wanted to add to his squad before next Tuesday’s deadline.
“Yeah, they are both centre-forwards, and you probably won’t need a rocket scientist to need that – I’m unlikely to go and sign a centre-back,” he said. “We need some extra bodies in up front, there is no doubt about that.”

That's interesting, because up until a few days ago we were talking to "a defender"'s rep. Unless that was supposed to be a smokescreen for one of these strikers.
Millwall don't get Ade unless they have missed their "mystery target", which is always possible. Let's hope Wigan really are broke.
Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Victor A and Eaves on loan until the end of the season wouldn't be too bad, although they'd presumably both expect to be starting most games.

Presumably the defender need/want has been deprioritised, and understandably so.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 11:07 amThat's interesting, because up until a few days ago we were talking to "a defender"'s rep. Unless that was supposed to be a smokescreen for one of these strikers.
You'd expect we'd always be interested in strengthening all departments, but the triage has changed in the last couple of weeks.
.
Carries on like this we won't have many alternatives!!

You'd think so. I'd still very much take a RWB option, but we need more goals and a much stronger bench than we put out yesterday.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 11:11 amPresumably the defender need/want has been deprioritised, and understandably so.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
And I still worry Dempsey will twang a hammy in February, leaving us with Sheehan or MJ. Unless Shoretire works out, in which case we can have 60 minutes of Lee.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 11:13 amI'd still very much take a RWB option, but we need more goals and a much stronger bench than we put out yesterday.
