Re: League One, 2022/23
It's really "que sera" time now all the way home. Our injury total couldn't have come at a worse time, but the team's fighting spirit is admirable. Keep it rolling lads.

Re: League One, 2022/23
Reckon it’s going to be somewhere round 79-80-81 points mark for playoffs.
Effectively we need to find somewhere between 4 and 5 more wins from our remaining games.

Re: League One, 2022/23
That is a reasonable shout
Both Derby and Posh will fancy getting at least 12 points from their 6 games.
They both play some of the same teams as us ( Bristol Rovers, Cambridge, Accrington, Burton. Exeter)
We need the top 4 to win their matches from now on and keep all places live until the end
Especially those on the last day
i.e. Sheff Wed v Derby
and Barnsley v Posh
Not forgetting Ipswich v Posh in the meantime
And we still need to win all our home games plus something from at least one of the away games

The penalty given to Oxford against Sheffield Wednesday genuinely ranks as the worst football decision I’ve ever seen. Utterly abysmal decision. It’s basically impossible to understand how it was given.

However, the one earlier on was far more blatant but wasn't given. Ref thinking two wrongs make a right?

Possibly. Barnsley also got a terrible decision. Defender saves it on the line. Red and penalty. Ref waves it away.truewhite15 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 9:06 amHowever, the one earlier on was far more blatant but wasn't given. Ref thinking two wrongs make a right?
Standard of refereeing is shocking.

Cosgrove starting for Argyle on Friday getting away with his assault is testament to how little the FA cares about officiating in the football league. To not do something retrospectively about that one (despite the booking at the time) is a shocker. And Ben toner presumably had a game despite being unable to apply rules correctly.

But their rules don’t allow them to do anything about it as the referee saw it. The rules are wrong but they couldn’t change the rules this week.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 8:45 amCosgrove starting for Argyle on Friday getting away with his assault is testament to how little the FA cares about officiating in the football league. Re: League One, 2022/23
Seems bizarre that they have all the tech at Wembley and didn't use it. I know the argument that it's not used in any other round etc. They use the tech and Plymouth probably get an earlyish red, nailed on one from Cosgrove and probably concede a pen too....
Depending how games pan out, we could end up playing them again, yet...

It’s not just one error but two! Cosgrove should be banned for 3 and the ref/Lino should be seeing the season out in the non league! The rule needs sorting!

For me tackles like that Cosgrove one need special rules. Thats not a mistimed one or reckless or careless. It’s pre meditated and deliberate.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:32 amAye - it’s bollocks is what I am saying.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 1:06 pmBut their rules don’t allow them to do anything about it as the referee saw it. I think they need to seriously crack down on those sorts of things. Really long bans and fines. But again it needs a panel and a review process and people who know what they are doing.
Watching games this weekend it’s clear our officials are pretty inept in general so any changes to the rules risk making a mess.
Re: League One, 2022/23
The challenge for the FA would be determining premeditation and deliberation as opposed to just a bad challenge. I said to the wife that the nasty challenge was coming straight after half time and lo and behold the tackle on Sheehan came in a minute later.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:59 amFor me tackles like that Cosgrove one need special rules. The push by Cosgrove and the nasty tackle on Toal should have been dealt with. We can all see it and the refs have the tech available, yet they chose to not use it. Turning a blind eye. Just like the mistaken identity red card for Charles, it should be resolved if we have the ability.

Watching the Cambridge Peterborough game and Peterborough haven't managed a shot on target. Cambridge are no walk over.

Would be good to win the game in hand. That'd make a bit of a cushion...

Two full rounds of games first (Tue/Sat). Then Tuesday week (25th) is the leveller: we host Accy,Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:50 pmWould be good to win the game in hand. That'd make a bit of a cushion...
Plymouth host Bristol Rovers, and Barnsley - who are only 3pts and two goals behind South Yorkshire rivals Sheff Wednesday - host… Ipswich.
