F.A.Cup...Re-play V Luton at Home. Tues 16th Jan 19-45

Well, we're in the hat for the next round, but we've still got work to do to get there.
Our last FA cup draw vs Luton saw us draw at their place then win 6-2 at ours. Hopefully we'll get them back at ours and do a decent job.
All things considered, that was good. We matched Premier League opposition and could've come away with it. Luton came closest, as you'd expect but we got through it.
Anyone know when the replay is likely to be?

Up against it most of second half, then opened up in the last 10. Overall a pleasing effort...

Thank DJB. Much appreciated.

Superb! All those questions about character etc answered again.
Could do without the extra game. Not sure when it will be. Historically "a week on Tuesday" but they've got Burnley on the Monday. They've only got one other game this month though so you imagine they'll be strong again. Another good test though.

You can’t be anything other than proud of the performance. It was as good as you can expect bar one or two moments where with a better finisher we may have won it.
A draw is probably the result we didn’t want but the players deserve another go at it.

Tactically feels like Evatt got it spot on. A couple of years ago we might have tried to go toe to toe and been beaten by half an hour but a ver intelligent performance against better and more physical players. Very pleased with it. Thought Dempsey did a good job on Barkley from what I saw. Wing backs stuck to their task but that is where we lacked a bit of quality. Forwards worked hard and defenders all played well.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 3:56 pmUp against it most of second half, then opened up in the last 10. Overall a pleasing effort...

Fourth Round is played on 27th January, so I suspect this replay will be played on the 16th or 17th of January.

I'd say the bean counters will be happy especially if the TV cameras come to town.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 3:58 pmYou can’t be anything other than proud of the performance. It was as good as you can expect bar one or two moments where with a better finisher we may have won it.

Burnley v Luton will now be moved to Friday 12th to accommodate the replay according to R5L.

Fair enough, there is a slot for the week after, but that would leave very little time for spectators to arrange their tickets and travel.

Missed the first 20 and most of the second half, but from what I saw I'd have believed it if someone told me we were in the same division as Luton. Well done lads.

Two divisions of difference, playing away and got a draw. Yes, we were under siege second half, but we coped. Lucky with the post shot and Charles ( and later Bod) got thrown about like a rag doll and got nothing from the ref, but all in all, well done the lads. No disgrace a draw against a Premier League side. Bit of work needed on set pieces and free kicks, but...
Big thanks to D.J.B as ever....

Hope that doesn’t delay the signing of the striker from them, if that’s what we are waiting for. Could do with the option sooner rather than later!

Thoroughly enjoyed that, what a superb performance. Sheehan and Adeboyejo the standouts for me but everyone was excellent. Going toe to toe with a prem side just shows how far we've come under IE. They edged it certainly but not by much. The fact that we managed to maintain our style of play despite the step up is just massively encouraging for the future. The fans were incredible too. Bravo.

Sounds like we gave a good account of ourselves. A replay is far from ideal but a chance for a big crowd at our place is not to be sniffed at.

Game has been selected for TV albeit TNT. Let's hope for an explosive result.
