Depends what it looked like at the time - I think it’s deteriorated pretty quickly.

Yeah, ah good.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:56 pmYou’ll get a refund. Wanderers tv you mean?
It’s a complete risk to more injuries this.
The right decision would be to call it off. Pity that’s had to be made so late.

We've not travelled from Russia so there's less reason to keep this one going.

It’s in our favour to call this off. The conditions would be an equaliser and we have injuries and risk of more with a pitch like this. So yeah…would be a result.

I mean starting the game. The forcast was there for all to see and it was battering it down before kick off.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:57 pmHardly. It's very bad for the fans if so but we have footballers who can barely stand up. One of their lads smashes Dion's leg in two, how do we feel then?
In terms of fixture pile-up, not ideal but not so bad now we're out of the cup. And it's worth noting we might have more players fit and settled by then....

Mate, there are folk who have travelled there - you don’t get your time off and petrol back. We’re sat on our arses with a brew.HMX wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:57 pmYeah, ah good.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:56 pmYou’ll get a refund. Wanderers tv you mean?

Yeah I agree. You could see the ball wasn’t rolling from the start. It’s not stopping raining. I think it’s far better to stop it unscathed than pick up more injuries.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:57 pmHardly. There's a free midweek in a fortnight for us, isn't there?

I’m not as angry as you think I am. I really feel for the fans.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:58 pmMate, there are folk who have travelled there - you don’t get your time off and petrol back. Is probably the correct answer - they will fancy it more than us…BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:58 pmIt’s in our favour to call this off. The conditions would be an equaliser and we have injuries and risk of more with a pitch like this. So yeah…would be a result.

I was at Plymouth in a similar monsoon and I was saying it should be off. Yes, it's hugely awkward and expensive for the fans but it's just not safe.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:58 pmMate, there are folk who have travelled there - you don’t get your time off and petrol back. Clearing the pitch is a bit pointless given the forecast for next few hours.

I'd fancy this in warmer, sunnier conditions iin mid-April

Both sides are free in a fortnight.
Next midweeks we have free are Tue 19 and Tue 26 March, but that's either side of the international weekend - which itself will almost certainly cause another postponement for the Shrewsbury home game scheduled Sat 23 March.
There are also three midweeks free in April, when we are currently only scheduled to play (after Easter Monday, 1st) on the four Saturdays - 6, 13, 20, 27.

That turned quite late on didn’t it? One of those where the result was already done so the ref feared a backlash from a late abandonment?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 8:01 pmI was at Plymouth in a similar monsoon and I was saying it should be off. Gonna need a few more brushes if this is anything to go by. Certainly not going to be able to get enough water off with just 3 sweepers. I get that those are problem points.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 8:01 pmClearing the pitch is a bit pointless given the forecast for next few hours.
It'll be the referee's call to see whether this carries on. I'd imagine he's in conversation with the clubs to see whether it can continue, but i'd imagine its going to be another game with this pitch getting reviewed.

Burton - Cheltenham postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
