Re: Tonight's Football
I didn’t know where to post this so I’ll post here and try and make sense:
I feel I down traded by instead of just watching live games on phone (plus on demand) I changed BeInSports Connect to BeInSports through PrimeVideo app but now I can watch through xbox or phone or PS4
I’ll do my best to get up early for tonight’s Semi Final @ Riverside Stadium
(Can no longer on demand but I feel better it’ll be better on the big screen the television)
(But I can stream highlight shows on demand though at least)

Perhaps if they stuck a D in the middle they'd make more senseMattySlug wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 10:42 amI didn’t know where to post this so I’ll post here and try and make sense:

Re: Tonight's Football
Through prime not all games are shown as well so I’ve canceled and will get the BeInSportsConnect either just for my phone or I will save for a compatible tv in a few weeks
Sorry I confused posted
I’ve gotten up early today and I can choose to watch either Lens - PSG or Roma @ AC Milan

Derby currently showing just how dangerous natural pace (and Kane Wilson) can be.
I sincerely hope Burton can do us a favour here.

Re: Tonight's Football
Classy game tonight with a very late 1-0 to City over Spurs.. De Bruyne came on late and won it with a superb corner kick, but a great game with quite a few for M.O.T.M. Kyle Walker was immense for City, but it was ding-dong all the way. Enjoyed that.

I was a bit disappointed that the multiple choice at the end of the article had "It's a special ground - renovate" or "Rip it down and start again" but not "rip it down and build a fun-park instead"

What do you reckon on the "Ten minutes in the sin bin" blue card proposed tests?

The cynic in me thinks it's another thing to guarantee wins for the top teams. But I do think that some fouls that are deemed too much for a yellow, aren't always immediate reds, so an in-between thing can be goodTANGODANCER wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:55 pmWhat do you reckon on the "Ten minutes in the sin bin" blue card proposed tests?
I'm always of the opinion that football is great as it is, stop trying to change it and I think they need to sort VAR out, before adding another huge change to the game

Re: Tonight's Football
I think on the extent that they're discussing, it seems ok. Dissent and technical fouls. There has been no real attempt to do anything about dissent forever, so there are only two options, the dissent was so bad that you'd send someone off for it, or you suck it up. I'd be delighted to see teams surrounding the ref, but not doing anything so bad that it warrants a red, being dispatched for 10 minutes.
Similarly, the technical foul, so for example, a pull back on a player has become a bit of a laughing stock as you only get red (I think) if it prevents a clear goal scoring chance, so just doing it as a cheat really has little effective penalty apart from maybe a yellow and a free-kick (Obvs the perp needs to think if they are already on a yellow)...10 minutes might be a better deterrent.
Obvs, we've seen at rugby the use of sin-bins, but what they've then done is add to the list of "technical fouls" for which a sin-bin might apply so you end up with a lot of games playing 15 v 14 (or 13) which imbalances the game for the spectator - so in general, I think their use needs to be more limited and nuanced.

Time wasting is one for me. If a player persistently wastes time then sin bin then red if they still do it. If the team is sharing it about then the ref can blue card the team and the oppo captain chooses who sits it out - probably should exclude goalies unless we're fly goalieing it

Re: Tonight's Football
I can't in my wildest dreams imagine what it might do to football outside our shores. Rugby players just take it on the chin and get on with it . Somehow, I just cannot see law and order ruling in Spanish and Italian games... I could be wrong..
