Well, in the searing heat, the points were as follows:
Commie - 33
Mummywhycanieatcrayons - 30
Bruce - 26
I birdied the first and it was all downhill from there. Champagne moment of the round was when Commie holed a 60-foot chip to save his par on the par-5 third.
I lost a couple of balls on the back nine, and am not at all bitter that I was ceding 21 shots each to these two 'grown men', who both happen to be top blokes.

Yes I have to admit Mummy ( though it's not much of an admission!) is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy better than either myself of Bruce, -on the first fairway we did have a quiet word with each other that we just need to make sure we didn't embarass ourselves in front of this young whippersnapper who was out driving either of us by a good 30 yards.
Stapleford is the way to go is you've got high handicappers vs low handicappers, otherwise me and Bruce might as well have packed up and gone home at the first!!

When would people be free for the real deal then? At least I've seen the course now - I'll be much less inclined to carve it all over the fecking place when the trophy is on the line and I know where I'm going (not that Commie's advice on this point was in anyway deficient or misleading!).
Bruce, where are the 'action shots'?

Ah, most enlightening, Crayons - I didn't think you'd put them up, to be honest.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote: Commie - 102

Sounds like you had a grand day. Well done. It's a pity I couldn't make it as I might have given Bruce a run for his money for the wooden spoon (I haven't played for thirty years or so). Good luck with the big one if it happens.
If I magically learn how to drive and pass my test within the next month or so (and let's face it, given that I'm not learning at the moment it's a long shot) then I'll come over, but it's a bit difficult to lug my clubs around otherwise .
One day, though, I'll come out for a hack with you lot. Sure you don't fancy playing in Liverpool?
