All time fave players are Davo, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Alan Thompson, Nathan Blake, Jay Jay and in the early years, John Thomas & David Reeves!! (I know I know!!)

Given that you were between the ages of 10 and 13 I suppose you can be forgiven.MichaelJohn12 wrote: All time fave players are.................... David Reeves!!
Welcome along, Michael, and what a splendid name you have. Popular, without being common.

As Soldier hints, it's a good 'practice go' to post about your first/favourite games, heroes, villains, highs, lows. Not compulsory, though. Enjoy T-W, whether you lurk or post (do post), and if you need any help with anything drop a PM to the usual hard workers behind the scenes (Soldier, Zulu, Crazy Horse).

Yes mate I do indeed! My Grandpa was involved in the crush @ Burnden Park when we played Stoke in 1946! He and my dad introduced me in '85 when George Oghani & Dave Sutton ruled the pitch!Montreal Wanderer wrote:Welcome, Michael. Hmmm, first game was a 3-2 defeat at home to Chesterfield in 1986.
Favourite games would be the 2-0 win at Liverpool in 1993, was amazing as a 12 year old to actually be in the Liverpool end as well! Also the 2-2 draw at West Brom in 2001 in the Play Off Semi! Thinking we'd thrown it away, but then up pop Gudni & Per! The 2-1 win at Old Trafford with Ricketts making Wes Brown look rather amateurish! Finally, the recent 3-1 win at Wigan! To finally put one over them was sensational! Such relief!!
Heroes as per my original. Kevin Davies is by far and away my favourite Bolton player of all time. He plays with heart EVERY game and I'll never understand why one England call up has never happened!
Villains - Nicky Hunt....more for the fact that I work hard for a living and he probably earns what I earn in 1 year in 3 weeks...and for what?
Highs - My first was the Sherpa Van Trophy Final - great celebration from Trevor Morgan to top it all off. Robbie Savage's goal @ Wrexham to take us back to Division 3! Super John's penalty to clinch promotion to Division One in '93! Eidur's goal against Wimbledon in the League Cup in 1999 @ The Reebok! Ricketts scoring @ Cardiff to clinch our place back in the Premiership. Finally, Jay Jay's goal against West Ham!
Lows - Being relegated to the 4th Division! Being beaten 6-0 by Man Yoo in 1995....School was horrific the next day! Going down to Chelsea in '98 with the belief we would really beat them and stay up, only to leave crying! Recently, the lows have been few and far between which is nice! Losing Anelka has actually hit me like losing a relative! First I wasn't arsed but now, I'm actually gutted! Anyone else feel that?
Cheers guys!

I believe that the Jesuits used to say (some centuries ago) "give me a child when he is seven years old and he will be mine forever". Lenin is reputed to have updated this with ""Give me a child for the first 5 years of his life and he will be mine forever."enfieldwhite wrote:Is that a life ethos WTW?William the White wrote:Excellent, a big welcome...

As a former Thornleigh boy, taught by Salesians, I think this was attributed to Don Bosco too. Maybe Zulu or Bobo could assist?Montreal Wanderer wrote:I believe that the Jesuits used to say (some centuries ago) "give me a child when he is seven years old and he will be mine forever".
