I said that it was time for him to go his own way when I was stood watching them tour the third album. For me they haven't done a single worthwhile thing since (though I bet that they're fantastic to watch now that they have skilled musicians in tow).TANGODANCER wrote:Aye, can anything be worse than ten years with loathesome Liam? May the bridges I burn light your way
Yeah mine too. Should've split up after Whats the Story, would have finished with 2 out of 2 great albums instead of 2 out of 7! Not as much money though i suppose.Bruce Rioja wrote:He should've left 10 years ago, IMO.
Actually Steve Lamacq was on about this on his show a few weeks ago, he couldn't think of any band that had produced 3 great albums in a row.

Whilst I'm prepared to debate the three 'great Oasis' LPs another day... I suggest SFA as a band who have managed the same feat, presuming we're talking about post 1994 (or else we'd be here all day).John Doe wrote:Actually Steve Lamacq was on about this on his show a few weeks ago, he couldn't think of any band that had produced 3 great albums in a row.

I mean I could suggest that This is my truth...by the Manics isn't a great album but in FD's opinion it is
No right or wrong just something to pass 5 mins on a baking hot August Bank Holiday Sunday.

1968 Beggars Banquet
1969 Let It Bleed
1971 Sticky Fingers
1972 Exile on Main St.
The Rolling Stones. Sure there are others.
Never a fan of Oasis so not concerned that they are breaking up, but I am sure many groups put out 3 great albums in a row although it depends on your taste. I think Springsteen did it in the 70's as well.

Don't work like that Pru. Not interfering in the thread, but one man's great is another man's grate. . Sky were great for me and made 17 succesful albums. Some here have probably never heard of them.Prufrock wrote: Some folk need to go sit down with a dictionary, and have a think about what 'great' actually means.
