Discovering the joys of alcohol, in 2 weeks I have gone from never drinking, to 9 pints of John Smith's on a Saturday in Huddersfield. Believe it or not I wasn't drunk, didn't get a hangover, probably due to all the pies I ate.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

I feel dreadful that I can toast your Damascene moment here with nothing stronger than Sprite Light.bwfcdan94 wrote:Discovering the joys of alcohol, in 2 weeks I have gone from never drinking, to 9 pints of John Smith's on a Saturday in Huddersfield. Re: Today I'm happy about......
Thanks for the cattle and r/c car video, thebish, it's really interesting.
A few years ago I used to repair those electric ones. One day I received one from a customer asking me if it was fixable. The rather apologetic note explained that the owner (son) had run it in one of the back paddocks and one of the emus there stamped on it.

Conquest of the Dawn Wall of El Capitan. Looks like Caldwell and Jorgeson are actually going to do it. Having seen it up close and climbed its first 100m (on ropes, with backup) I am utterly stupified that anybody could climb that beast freestyle.

I don't go in for all that this is real ale, this isn't etc. That said, John Smiths is rarely a good pint and the lad could have done better with some guidance, which in Spotty's own way, was trying to guide him away from the bitter equivalent of Fostersthebish wrote:Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Couldn't have put it better myselfLost Leopard Spot wrote:Jesus H Christ lad, leave that shite alone and try some beer...bwfcdan94 wrote:Discovering the joys of alcohol, in 2 weeks I have gone from never drinking, to 9 pints of John Smith's on a Saturday in Huddersfield. That it's going to lose its mind

Can't agree. Early dabbles with cider didn't make anything better!thebish wrote:Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: I don't go in for all that this is real ale, this isn't etc. That said, John Smiths is rarely a good pint and the lad could have done better with some guidance, which in Spotty's own way, was trying to guide him away from the bitter equivalent of Fosters

Mine was (1) Merrydown Cider on the cemetery > (2) Whitbread Trophy Bitter > (3) Boddingtons (4) (Stella/Grolsch/Kronenburg 1664/Budweiser) > (5) Proper stuff.Prufrock wrote:Yep. Shit cider -> Shit lager -> Guinness -> Proper stuff is how I got there.
Where option 5 isn't an option then option 4 is redeployed.
I'd rather drink the puss from a boil than any of that smoothflow bollocks. See also Fosters and whatnot.
