Cardiff away

Post by plymouth wanderer » Tue Mar 24, 2015 3:37 pm

Thought I'd start this one up as it's close to the Blackpool game!

I'm off to this one, (finally) anyone else?? Bish, Devon White?

As I'm going I think we'll get hammered :oyea:

I think you're right , Cardiff are starting to click now though they've been rubbish at home most of the season .
I'm wondering how I've gone most of the season without spotting the best bet for bit winning away is right under my nose . Must be the deluded optimism of the football fan . Draw at Blackpool , lose at Cardiff would be the rational expectation . However Blackpool being a home game I expect a 3 0 win in that one .

Have we ever won at Cardiff? I remember us losing there late in season 77 & again in 1978. One of those results cost us promotion. Fortunately the other didn't.

Kenwyne Jones is much maligned, but he'll have a field day against our lot

We won 2-0 there on the opening day of the season in the late 80's/early 90's iirc. Pretty sure Philliskirk score one, maybe both.

Wish it were us doing the maligning. Cracking striker.

I've scored in Cardiff.

Just saying.

19 Aug 1989; Philliskirk (on his competitive debut) and Darby the scorers, as so often was the case. Three days later, in the League Cup, we lost at Rochdale...

We also won at Ninian on Sat 26 Oct 1985 [1-0] and Sat 26 Apr 1975 [2-0] and in the Sixties we won six of eight visits. Bring back the Beatles, that's what I say.

I remember us beating 6-3 once, but that was at Burnden when I was about 10. And even then there were wankers boo-ing towards the end, as I recall.

I went to Cardiff the week before the away game at Ewood when Ian Greaves side got promotion in '79. We took a huge following as it was expected to be a promotion party, but it was postponed for a week when we lost.

Jones is wank, though agreed he'd enjoy playing against our back-line of thick f*ckers. Looks like he may be off to Bournmouth on loan so we can slightly delay playing him, and wait until the now-shifted-to-a-Monday-night (hoo-fecking-ray) game.

Glad you mentioned that, I'd been eyeing up a spring seaside Saturday but Monday can f*ck off.
