next season holds misery and disappointment - would we really have it any other way?

Those odds are here: http://www.skybet.com/football/sky-bet-championship" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

33/1 for the title (17 teams are shorter odds)
9/1 for promotion (16 teams are shorter odds)
7/2 for relegation (only Rotherham are shorter)

You always have to remember though that odds don't just reflect likelihood, they're also damage limitation, chosen by actuaries to reduce the bookies' financial risk. That's why England are often say third favourites for competitions they're clearly not the third most likely to win.

The shortest odds for the title are Burnley and Hull, and neither can be sure they'll have the same manager next month.

Personally, I think we'll just miss out on the play offs right at the death. Having said that, I'm gonna stick 20 quid on us to go up.

I'll certainly be putting some money on it. On another note I think whatever happens this will be Lennon's last season at the club.

Regarding next season .... have people (well, those who've signed up, anyway) already received their season tickets ?

I have confirmation that I am signed up. I am paying for it, but no actual piece of plastic yet !
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I think we must've slipped odds-wise.

13/2 for top 6 finish (21 teams shorter) -> looks tempting but it'll only magnify the misery!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

No, nothing yet. Can't recall when they usually arrive.

Normally arrive the last week in July I think!

EDIT: In fact, just checked I have a photo of when I received it last season and it was 26th July.

Season ticket arrived today cannot decide if I am excited or concerned for the season ahead. I am happy with the players we have got rid of (although Trotter still looms large). I am happy with the few players that have arrived, although we really do need at least another 3 before we start.

My main concern is that we have a poor start and Lennon gets fed up of the lack of finance and decides to leave at Christmas and we are unable to attract as good a manager! Alternatively we have a better than predicted start and Lennon is attracted by a better offer to the PL and again we are left in dire straights!

Basically for a successful season we need both a good start and investment in order to give Lennon the freedom to create a team capable to reaching the Promised Land or riches. Otherwise we are once again heading for the wilderness!

With a relatively injury free squad I would fancy a top 10 finish. Very concerned about the robustness of the squad though

I believe in Lenin

I think Amos, Derik, Pratley, Vela, Davies, Clough are a strong enough core to finish top 10 if kept fit.

The big problem is the squad shallowness. (Well, the big problem is financial uncertainty, from whence cometh the shallowness.) But there's the makings of a strong spine there, from Amos through Osede to Pratley/Vela behind Mavies/Clough/Clayton, with Madine promising up top.

We need width - wingers and full-backs, especially if we either (1) go back-three or (2) have a slightly narrow midfield/attack to accommodate Clough plus Mavies plus two energetic midfielders. But I'd rather have weak width and a strong spine than the other way around.
