Hope you had the right day (i.e. today) - the next one is only 18 years so you might just make that too!TANGODANCER wrote:Anybody staying up to watch this? Only happens every thirty years or so.

As long as it's tonight, then yes I did. Any other time, I've missed it.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Hope you had the right day (i.e. today) - the next one is only 18 years so you might just make that too!TANGODANCER wrote:Anybody staying up to watch this? Only happens every thirty years or so.

Even worse, I got up only to find dense hill fog obscuring everything.
That's not a leopard!

Got a lovely view of it across the bay at Crantock around 3.45am, loads of rabbits out as well
Crystal clear skies and the stars were unusually bright, t'was a tad nippy still night.
The moon looked like a slightly over ripe strawberry, pleased I woke up for a pee

Apart from being able to say "I saw it", it was all a bit "Shakespeare". We stayed up till after 4-0'clock....like idiots.

Clear skies here and earlier in the day. The shadow started around 9.15 pm and moved fairly quickly. Surprisingly totality lasted over an hour from 10.15 to 11.25 (I was expecting to see the sliver on the other side in about 10 minutes). My son took a pic with his I-phone just before totality.
