Re: Match Thread

I use Chrome and Opera. Both work for me. Opera tends to be quite hit and miss on sites but seems to behave on here :)

PS - no one likes IE ;)

Re: Who's going down to League One in 2019? Bolton?

Can't we just enjoy a few weeks of summer before the hand wringing starts? We've signed a solid midfielder and some creativity that looks a worthwhile punt given our lack of funds. A promising start, but far too early to tell anything until ourselves and competitors shape their squads more.

Re: Release or retain?

See, I see clearance as aimless hoof which was a major problem we had. There is a time and place for a hoof, but hoofing all game long generally means the ball coming back at you seconds later.

Up to Edinburgh for the weekend.

I know everywhere looks good in the sun, but feck me the East Coast main line through Northumberland and the borders is pretty.

Re: Release or retain?

Presumably Pratley was playing in place of cullen/Derek, thus explaining improved stats, rather than it being Pratley's excellence. Whatever the merits or demerits of Pratley he will always be a symbol of Coyle's legacy: replacing uninspiring but competent footballers with Championship (at best) me...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

He's a left-back I don't mind us giving trials I doubt it will be our only potential hire Listed as a winger where I looked. Even so, 25, non-league player....its an odd one. I know some blossom later in their careers, but it smells like scraping the very very bottom of the barrel. Presumably makin...

Re: Season Tickets 18/19

Ticket prices bear no relation to the quality on the pitch. I mean, Arsenal are a classic example! Just like the cost of living goes up each year, the cost of running the club, paying regular staff, electricity costs etc go up. Indeed. But I guess you could argue that having secured championship st...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?

I wonder how many of those who want their heads testing, will buy season tickets for another 40 odd games of PP stylee football? Ken's problem is that he has to make a decision prior to knowing that figure. Does he allow a manager with a very poor record of signings to blow our summer budget (If we...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Of course we'll need investment to compete properly, but predictions of doom at this stage is nonsense - we don't know what will happen over the next few months. How about postponing the despair until we know there is no forthcoming investment? Not predicting doom. I expect Ken to come up with the ...

Re: The Politics Thread

Last thing we need is a 2nd house of politicians making promises to get elected and ignoring them afterwards. Get rid of hereditary and spiritual as Pru says. I'd also see how we can remove any form of party representation or affiliation to make the 2nd house impartial. Might as well get rid of the ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Now the joyous haze of Sunday is thinning out a bit, it becomes clear that we are no closer to having a competitive Championship side than we were at this stage last season. If we re-signed everyone we wanted to from the current squad and no one else we would still finish bottom by about 25 points....
