Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Sibley's hit a lot of runs as an opener... Then again Garry Ballance has hit a few too. Roy and Bairstow to open though surely? Technically will be challenged but I think Aussies will fear them more than Jennings or Ballance or any other rabbit we put in there. Mind I fear the worst for this Ashes....

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Pru’s line up looks about right. Number 3 a huge call really. I’m unconvinced with Denly but not sure who else bats 3. Stokes perhaps? I’d also open with those two. It’s worth a try. As for Wood he is different to Archer he swings it at pace and is skiddy. But his fitness is an issue for tests. As i...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

How many boundaries you scored in an innings is not arbitrary - it's down to the skill of the batting side vs the skill of the fielding side. Its like goal difference - I guess. I think so long as its clear and both sides know - and going out for the superovers the umpires confirmed to each side th...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

And as much as NZ were unlucky - they have to look at themselves. Santner ducking under the last ball of their innings has to be up there amongst the most idiotic of things to do in a one day game ever. Had he had any contact he might have smuggled another crucial run. Had he got lucky and top edged...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Dujon’s right about the flukey nature of the win. For me it’s all about celebrating an incredible game of cricket and sporting drama. It’s lovely having our name on the trophy but I do feel for New Zealand. In all previous tournaments the trophy would have been shared in the event of a tie. In othe...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Think I read that the ICC are in charge of the pitches rather than the ECB. Imagine we'd have had flat tracks all round otherwise. I imagine Jimbo will remember that one! The groundsman is actually and factually "in charge" of the pitch, regardless of who notionally is responsible for ensuring thei...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

And yeah, undoubtedly lucky. Probably the luckiest win I've ever seen. Not to say it was a travesty, just every single little thing, and a couple of pretty big things went our way. The Boult catch and Stokes deflection (all in the final 2 overs?). Madness. You obviously take it, and it isn't going ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I'm not a big 1 day fan but this team was incredible before Archer. At home we really should win it. I’m not either. I’ve always struggled to recall any ODIs more than a couple of weeks later. This team are making me take more notice though. Bowling is the weakness, and the only worry for the World...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Feel even worse for NZ now that the umpires got it wrong and it should have been 5 not 6 off the bat deflection.....

Kids, don’t take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy.
New Zealand players are absolute class. Jimmy - I hope you win the next one. By god do you deserve it.

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/17765299.bolton-waiting-hotel-sale-takeover-club-draws-near/ Article from Iles suggesting pretty much all done and dusted on Club side SPA. Waiting on hotel side. I believe there are ongoing issues with the hotel and MJ's security that need resolving and are pe...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

What this does further highlight, of course, is how utterly fecking ridiculous it is that we're the hosts to the most prestigious one day international tournament of a game that we took to the world and it isn't covered by terrestrial television. Then people wonder how come there are those of us in...

He's absolutely off his fecking head  And even with all that - you get the impression that had he been able to show the "readies" at the correct time, he'd have passed the fit and proper person's test! I don't like to tell you this....he did! Not, apparently, that you need to, judging by the s...

https://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1149042221322313729 That date ain't looking like "next week" to me... I don't believe that date or process impacts upon completion of the change of control process with Football Ventures.... You'd sort of assume they'd need to be pretty certain that they we...

Re: Administration and recovery

Here's a question. What happens if admin does drag on? Let's not go into why that might happen, just the logistics. We know this process has been quicker than most, but there's a corollary to that: have there been any other admins wherein the club has found itself effectively unable to proceed as a...
