Re: The next manager

Quite aside from his third-tier PPG, keeping Parky makes sense in a few ways. He would be likely to persuade at least half a dozen of the uncontracted players to re-sign immediately , I assume that was posted in jest? Parkinson's players were a large part of what went wrong from a playing prospecti...

Quite aside from his third-tier PPG, keeping Parky makes sense in a few ways. He would be likely to persuade at least half a dozen of the uncontracted players to re-sign immediately, and quickly bolster that with others from elsewhere - he and Breacker seem to have a strong knowledge of lower-league...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Nixon says Burnley want Brockbank. In other news he says Bradford (D4) are trying to sign James Vaughan, mentioned hereabouts as possibly worth a gamble, although obviously all incomings depend on budget, boss and ‘bargo.

Re: The next manager

I think Pulis will fancy he can get another championship job yet Pulis was great for Stoke, once he was settled in and king of the castle. But... I don't know, I don't think he has it in him to repeat his Stoke career. he is what he is and will never change. It works to an extent but even some Stok...

Re: The next manager

I’d like us to make the right, informed decisions after a decent selection process. Yes, time is of the essence but it’s a crucial decision.

Re: Administration and recovery

TBF there's no quotes so it would be hard to prove the NDA has been broken. And given Football Ventures are also named, let's not go defenestrating babies with bathwater. Sorry, DSb, I haven't been on the site for a couple of days. You did set me agiggling with that statement though. Does that mean...

Re: Administration and recovery

So... 4pm come and gone. And we're still no wiser. Not sure we'd expect much to be fair. They will need to spend some time evaluating the BAFO offers, which may have arrived at 16:00 on the dot... And the process is still in train, with NDAs presumably also signed by the admins, so they’re not goin...

"Craig Noone is set to sign for A-League outfit Melbourne City."

Pity, as I think he could've been a decent squad member in the third tier. Oh well.

Re: Administration and recovery

If the option was Bassini or liquidation, I guess we'd take Bassini. Wouldn't we? I know I would. The man's totally hat-stand but it's preferable to non-existence. I guess they could declare an invalid contest and reopen the bidding, but by then we'd be in serious danger of failing to be ready for ...

Re: Administration and recovery

And what do the Administrators do, if Bassini is the best candidate by far, and yet even the Administrators can see he's a financial toad? Do they kiss him and hope he turns into a princess, or do they start again, or do they just carve up what remains of the assets and say bye-bye club??? Because ...

Re: Administration and recovery

We just have to trust the admins. If they think he's the best man, imagine the others. You need to bear in mind, Barnetto, that it's the job of the administrators to find the best deal for the creditors, not the future of the club. That's where the utterly feckless EFL come in to it. Fair point Bru...

He’s leaked to the BN when signed up to a confidential process. Yet again, further confirmation that he’s an untrustworthy toad! If he’s the next owner I’ll be fuming. I can’t see it though. According to Football Insider (Who?), Huddersfield Town, Wigan Athletic and Charlton Athletic have set their sights on signing Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ben Alnwick. So both Matthews and Alnwick could be off this summer. On frees? https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-huddersfield-wigan-ch...

Re: Administration and recovery

And then there were five .... The Joint Administrators for Bolton Wanderers have set a deadline of 4pm on Wednesday 12 June for best and final offers for the club. Six potential bidders for the club met last week's deadline for offers for the club. However, after almost 72 hours of investigation, o...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Like every senior player he's legally entitled to up and leave, although I guess that window might be closing if (if? when?) new owners come in and pay up the arrears. This sounds like a player somewhat hiding behind an agent, mentally preparing the ground for a move. He's certainly not unconditiona...
