Re: Stats and stuff

CODE: SELECT ALL Not saying he was good enough for a shotshy D2 team, or even D3, but hats off to Doidge for scoring the second-most D4 goals over the past two seasons - despite spending four months with us

Re: Stats and stuff

Record-chasing, post-Blackburn update: POINTS PER GAME: Currently our 7th-worst ever season, and it can't get any worse. WINS PER GAME: 4th-worst; can't get any worse. LOSSES PER GAME: 3rd-worst, can't get any worse. GOALS CONCEDED PER GAME: 28th-worst, and to top this list we'd have to concede 60 i...

So when, exactly, are the EFL due to pronounce on Sir Baz the Rescuer's fitliness for ownershipness? Or has it, his fitliness for ownershipness, already snuck through???
No fitliness snuckage thus far.

If Brockbank plays. I’d expect a lot of changes from the game 72 hours ago. Hopefully more kids get a game. Pritchard, perhaps?

EDIT Marc Iles in the paper (link) says O'Neil is out, Wheater doubtful, tests on Ameobi, Noone and Hobbs; Wilson expected to feature.

Re: The cheer us up memory lane thread

Ground improvements, 1993 style. After all, we'd gone up to the Endsleigh League First (ie second) Division.

Re: Red Hats and One-eyed Snakes - the ups and downs of new management.

I've also been consistent that I'd prefer someone else than Bassini, but nobody else was forthcoming, probably because of Anderson. You are judged by your actions, and not by your pretensions. No doubt Bassini will have pretensions. He's already made one frankly pointless promise to be in the Premie...

Re: Red Hats and One-eyed Snakes - the ups and downs of new management.

Not sure if it is a good thing or not but this was in the Telegraph today: Former Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards has rejected the opportunity to return to the game as the new chairman of Bolton Wanderers. Might open the door for John Williams, which is good. Really? He soon sussed out th...

Re: The next manager

Parky’s CV would probably be pretty attractive if he was not already here... Which raises its own question. Would we rather bore our way to automatic promotion or scintillate our way to glorious play-off failure? Call it the 2016/17 Parky vs McCalldiola paradox... (For the record, I know it’s not a...

Re: The next manager

The Legendary Flanners notes that Laurence Bassini only hired one manager at Watford: croaky-voiced bloke called Sean Dyche. Former youth team coach, became assistant to Malky Mackay then got the top job when the Scot went to Cardiff. One of the first things the Bassini-replacing Pozzos did was turf...

Re: Thieves, crooks and Villains. Aston Villa (H) 19.4.19

Rotherham dip back below Wigan and the dots, because their hosts Swansea have equalised through useless old Oli McBurnie's 20th of the season.

EDIT Heh, Millers back in front. Long way to go, but Wigan being relegated would at least be funny.

Blackburn go one up, and Wigan do likewise.... Wigan have gone one down , to Leeds. And a man down. As it stands, they're in the drop zone. Sorry, must have heard that wrong D.S.B. Mea Culpa.... That's alright TD, you do a sterling job. Just didn't want others to absorb the wrong news, for w...

If, as Nicholaldo predicted and Iles seems to have confirmed, it's a back four with Buckley and O'Neil as the wide attackers, our midfield trio are 22, 21 and 17.

Re: Thieves, crooks and Villains. Aston Villa (H) 19.4.19

Screen Shot 2019-04-19 at 14.03.31.png Pick the bones out of that - AFAIK Brockbank is a centre-back, so unless we're easing him in at RB, is Hobbs playing on the right? Or a back three, in which case, who's WBs? Brockbank, Connelly, Luca Connell, Williams - youthful side, apart from all the old bl...
