Re: Tonight's Football

Yeah fair feck* to them. Can't argue with the decisions on their own but I can't stand VAR. I don't think the offside rule is there to be ruled on a milimtre here or there (and in fairness I don't think our pen was a pen either ). Ruins the game. Only saw the second half so no goals but they looked...

Re: Tonight's Football

I actually hope women footballers get equal pay. Since no one is mad enough to pour billions into the women's game like Sky have done for men, then to achieve parity they'll have to reduce mens pay. We could afford Sanchez on loan! Harry, Harry, I know Bolton are struggling for decent players these...

Re: Tonight's Football

Had our chances, we missed three penalties in the series, they played well tonight, we lost, good effort. Not much more can be said. Feel really sorry for Steph Houghton missing the pen, she's been a rock. Tough on Millie Bright getting red carded because the Doodles are no angels and Morgan is a se...

Re: Tonight's Football

Bad news Karen Bardsley being injured. She's the best keeper we have and I wasn't impressed with her replacement's positioning for either goal. If she'd stayed on her line she might have covered the second. That said, it ain't over yet. They are a top side with a lot of depth and we're our own worst ...

Tonights the night, v the good old U.S of A in the semi final. What's the odds on the Doodles trying for half a dozen penalties? Come on Lionesses, bite some asses.... :oyea: :oyea:

Just waiting now for Shazza to turn up at the UniBol wearing a swimsuit, waving a cheque, with a big grin.
Could we just go with the cheque maybe?

Re: This weeks RIP's........

Struth, Spotty, that's a bit rough. What happened? Did he kick you out of the band because you kept breaking your harp strings? I think Spots might have meant the Billy McKee who was a rear gunner on an I.R.A bread van and who's music making was the rattle of a Thompson gun rather than an electric ...

Re: Administration and recovery

Does this mean we can leave the business side of thing to the er..business "persons" now and just be Bolton Wanderers? Do we still have a team? Will there be a figurehead "owner" in the form of one person sitting in the throne of power as in Ken the man, or will the figurehead be our new manager up ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

If I was Indian I'd be pretty miffed with their game management, to be honest. They went into the final 10 overs with 5 wickets in hand and still made precious little attempt to swing the bat, short boundary or not. This. If it's obvious you have nothing to lose (almost already lost) why at least n...

Re: Administration and recovery

I've been trying ( obviously not alone) to reason out just why Bassini seems so desperate to own Bolton Wanderers? As a business venture it surely, at this moment in time, seems not quite blue-chip level for anybody. (I always thought chips were golden brown anyway?), yet a neutral observer could be...

For me, Enoch, I'm ever so glad that the alteration of the petticoat revolution did not occur.

Also for me, the altar of cricket is The Ashes. :)
But where will your loyalties lie Duj, Pom or Oz.?

Re: The cheer us up memory lane thread

Something worth having a read of. Puts things in proportion although historical rather than relative to today. Interesting, as is Tommy's book. Didn't know about that, but I'll look out for it. https://www.leighjournal.co.uk/news/10012194.todays-soccer-stars-owe-a-lot-to-bolton-wanderers-idol-tommy-...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

How's about, you can only play for the town/city you were born in? Home grown talent sort of thing.......Er, no, maybe not. Not much call for football in Katmandu I suppose. Daft, but is it any dafter than what's going on right now? Football is run by spivs, chancers and money investors. We even hi...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Apropos of not much (except in a cricketing sense), as a kid I used to take my autograph book everywhere (well, you never knew who you might meet and oh, if only I still had it) . One day I went up to Lower Pools, (home of Heaton Cricket Club back then.) Pride of place in the book went to two stars ...

337-7 due to some excellent bowling. Time will tell, but 8-1 is a positive start.
