Re: Club Rebranding
The 1877 bit looks like it's an MSPaint afterthought. A huge improvement on the old one though.

Re: Blackpool ... Donkeys or Towering ?
Today we needed our experienced players to stand up & be counted - Ricketts, Sordell & Lee were all found wanting imo. Ream, for all our doubts, was fine today. Medo wasn't up to his high standards - Pratley was as good as I've seen him. I actually thought Ricketts had a very sound game. Bit harsh ...

Re: Blackpool ... Donkeys or Towering ?
Echo the feelings at the final whistle. I was in West Lower right next to the away end, and Krazy Korner were bouncing about while the Blackpool fans were quiet....job done, so thought I until the Blackpool fans started going mad when, as it turns out, Leicester got the winner. I hadn't even conside...

Re: Blackpool ... Donkeys or Towering ?
Can't fault Doogie in the slightest for the way he has turned the reason around. We looked like rabbit in the headlights for the first 44 minutes today but there's not much he can do in situations like that other than sub the entire back four. Although I didn't fancy us getting promoted one bit and ...

Re: Leicester away
Despite the result, I thought the game was great entertainment and really enjoyed it (even after missing the first 15 minutes after misjudging the traffic en route from boozing in Ashby-de-la-Zouch!)

Re: Matchday Tips
Pubs aren't great, Scott's or Harvester opposite the stadium are ok and there may be the 'fanzone' under the East Stand. Ticket wise, I recommend buying online and using the Print@Home option.

He once came in The Greyhound in Leigh for a meal with his family while I was supping in there. Nice bloke, his wife was pretty fit as well.Burnden Paddock wrote:Also saw the guy that presents Granada Reports in there.

Re: Why Do people Leave early ??
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. The leaving early is quite clearly the club's fault for shutting the bars after half time. Nobody wants to sober up at the match now do they? Absolute nightmare when I go to SPL games. On the lash on the way up and before the game, then two hours without boozing a...

Re: God Loves Ivan Campo.
Hard to argue against him being one of the greats. He must have had a Tesco clubcard cos I saw him in Tesco Walkden doing the Mr Burns 'Ketchup? Katsup?' with two jars of goo. That's a tremendous image! Have any other Metro readers spotted a former Wanderer in a Tesco? Other supermarket chains will...

Re: Why Do people Leave early ??
In the days when I used the match buses for most games, there used to be folk who would leave early just to make sure they got a seat on the bus.

Re: Tuesday night with Venkys
N'Gog has been class in recent weeks, so I think it speaks volumes that he was pretty anonymous because of the presence of KD. Stick a willing runner up there, just as Davies and even Sordell have proven to be since Christmas, and it causes panic in the defence. Stick KD up there, particularly for 9...

I park on the retail park because I'm a lazy (and tight) sod. Usually back in Leigh within 45 minutes of getting back in the car. Only ever left one BWFC game early and that was the play-off final against Watford just after they scored near the end.

I'll be sat at the side of t'wireless......if GMR are covering the game................ They might, but it's Manchester's big night tonight. Tower Radio, 107.5 FM is your best bet if you're near the area. Radio Manc don't usually have the rights for Utd games, but it looks like they're covering the...

Bit harsh on N'Gog, Gail. His link up play was outstanding at times. A real class act.
