Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Surely archer and broad need to just try and be aggressive here. Trying to hang around isn’t going to work whereas a few quick boundaries might give us a slight chance.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
There’s a disappointing lack of highlight clips on SM this series so I’ve not been able to see any of today. Reading through comments though we seem to be playing for turn that isn’t there and getting out to balls that aren’t doing a great deal.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
FFS just got out of a 90 minute meeting and seen we’ve lost 7 wickets. Maybe just a genius tactical ploy so that Borad and Anderson can bowl them out for 40 under the lights later?

We’ve gone for 1 spinner. India have picked 3. Have a feeling one of the two teams will end up regretting their decision.
We’ve also got a very long tail.

Shall we just move straight on to the third test? I think we should. Why won't Ali be playing? He's arguably the only player to come out of T2 with any credibility in tact. It’s a bit of a shambles our selection right now. I know it’s Covid bubbles and mental health to some extent but cricket is a ...

All 3 format players have pre-agreed rest periods this winter to take time out of the bubble and go home. At the moment limite...

Re: Half season predictions
My main worry is that just means we’re fit but shit, and only able to become competitive when opposition players are a bit tired.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 7:24 pmAgree with comment about last 15 minutes not being preferable, but, we've picked up 8 points with goals in last 15 so far, which shows we keep going...

Re: Making HMS YouKnowWhat ship-shape: Winter 20/21 transfer thread
Cautiously optimistic about both. Both played at a much higher level. John out of contract in the summer so potential to make permanent, and I'm the in position we have been screaming out for. Reserving judgement more on Lee, not through pedigree just fitness. We've had so many of these in recent t...

Re: Rugby league
Wow. I don’t think I’m quite over it yet. It was the most tense sporting event I’ve ever sat through, then the emotion swings in that last 90 seconds were like nothing I’ve ever experienced. The initial despair of giving the penalty away, the joy of hardaker missing it, the building excitement as o...

Papa Johns have got sponsorship of Super League in exchange for providing pizzas to the players after each match. I suspect the EFL have managed to negotiate a better deal than that!

I'd say Pope is shoo-in for me too at the moment, he looks the real deal and I think an engine room of Root, Stokes, Pope is genuinely exciting. There are a lot of moving parts. Not too long ago you'd have said Crawley or Denley or similar had to play because Root was our best batsman and you neede...

Guessing like the players they can get out of nick after a long time off. They can’t even head to the nets in the build up. Must take a bit of time to get their eye in for judging LBWs at that pace.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 3:41 pmThree successful LBW appeals by them. What do these umpires do for a day job?

No Virologist, me, but I'm far from convinced that we've reached stage three. Also, I remain fecking appalled by the laissez faire attitude being exhibited by so many in relation to social distancing. By way of 'new normal', by the way, I've just had my first ever GP appointment to be held over Sky...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Just watched the highlights. Saw in the "presentations", Stokes was trying to give MotM award to Sibley. What a star. Sometimes one MotM isn't enough. Sibley, Stokes and Anderson all deserved it. Stokes was too obvious to ignore. But Jimmy hung around with Pope to allow England to get 30 odd crucia...

Worth a mention that Chris Eagles has left Oldham today. Iles has retweeted the story. Anyone reckon he could be lined up for a return?

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
For number 3 I’d have been tempted to give Ballance another go. I know he’s been ditched twice, but initially he was a good player and scored some important runs. He seemed to lose confidence and get into a habit of overthinking things and his technique went haywire, but he’s back on form for Yorks...
