Re: Rugby World Cup (RWC 19)

Have the Jocks superceded the Yanks as our globe's most litigious nation! "Yes, we read your terms and conditions. Yes, we signed the agreement. Yes, we now wish to challenge that we ever agreed to this." F*cking wankers. After all their complaining about the game potentially being cancelled they’v...

Re: Keith Hill's School For Gifted Youngsters

It’s all very strange, and seems a bit too much of our dirty laundry being made public. Brave on Hill’s part too, as fans seem to have a soft spot for Lee, Phillips and the academy. I’m happy to trust Hill for now.

I'm wondering what some views on this item are (Ignore the Daily Mail connection, it's covered by a few others) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7557947/Shy-awkward-student-19-faces-JAIL-sex-assault-conviction.html See, I have three grown daughters and a couple of granddaughters young and a...

Re: Keith Hill's School For Gifted Youngsters

Blimey, I never rated Adam Bogdan. In fact, I'd go as far as to say he's our worst Goalie since Simon Farnworth. However, I didn't expect him to be jobless at 32. Surely he’s only clubless through his own choice? He must have been on a decent wage (probably dramatically overpaid given his ability) ...

Re: The Politics Thread

"In a letter to the complainant, the BBC added that "audiences should not be able to tell" the opinions of its journalists on matters of public policy." This apparently extends to an "opinion" that "racism is bad". I’d love to know who complained. Who was sitting at home thinking ‘can’t be ha...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Sarah Taylor's retired. Such a sad day for the game that they've put it on the early evening news. :conf: She’s an absolutely class wicketkeeper Bruce. Probably the most natural I’ve seen standing up to the stumps. It’s worth looking for some YouTube clips of her leg side stumpings as they’re thing...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I suspect Mahmood and Parkinson are there for experience and for staff to have a closer look at them and a chance to work with them over winter. Both great prospects but I agree they need a little more 4 day cricket first.

Re: The Politics Thread

"Surrender Act" How jolly offensive! It’s more language though that plays into the image that is constantly being portrayed that leaving the EU is war-like. We’ve had it all along from people on both sides, but now the PM is leading the calls. There’s clearly some numb nuts out there who will buy i...

Re: New ownership - Football Ventures

Great appointment. AG is very very sharp and also loves the club. Pleased with how FV are going about this. He was a big part in making deal happen too. Exactly. However, social media is abound by those who don't know the first thing about anything, sounding off their annoyance at his appointment. ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Johnny Bairstowe being given the chop? That seems a bit unfair to me, he a good all rounder and wicket-keeper. Root apparently going for yoof..? I disagree, Tango. I thought he had a very poor Ashes, and he's profligate with appeals (which pisses me off no end). That said though, there are others I...

Re: The Politics Thread

I mean it was decided 11-0. 11 experienced judges have all independently come to the same conclusion. Without being party to all the evidence submitted, I’m happy to go with that as a fairly robust decision. One of the things which pleases me greatly about it being an unequivocal 11-0 is that neith...

Re: The Politics Thread

In a nutshell a political decision taken by a non elected court, democracy is now dead. Lady Hale said: 'The decision to prorogue was unlawful because it had the effect of frustrating Parliament' Lady Hale added: 'The effect upon the fundamentals of our democracy was extreme. No justification for t...

Will Boris be off to the European Court of Justice then? :D
What happened to the much lauded sovereignty of our courts and parliament?!

The fall out from this will be fascinating.

Timely double hundred for Sibley today. He does have the knack of being able to go big and concentrate for long periods.
Backed it up with a ton in the second innings. Love it when a player steps up when presented with a great opportunity.
