Re: Deduction prediction

I mean that’s better than anyone could have dreamed. Doncaster will be fecking livid. The least I expected was that game to be given to them. Now we get to go back there and spank them 😂

Re: Deduction prediction

Wow wow wow. Twitter saying we’ve only been given a suspended 5 point deduction! Yes 5 points suspended plus a fine 17 points in total we've been penalised then, and still there'll be hounds baying for our blood. It’s suspended Tango, so unless we start calling more games off then we’re in the clear.

Re: The Politics Thread

And I still think this government would be toast if there was a reasonably well led opposition pointing out these failings time and time again rather than failing to sort out their own issues (some petty, some much bigger).

Re: The Politics Thread

Interesting to hear Matt Hancock all over the place this morning with his great plan to get 6000 new GPs. It’s a lovely pledge and much needed, but it’s one that has been trumpeted by the Conservative party since 2014. So far they’ve increased numbers by 270 and failed to address the main issues reg...

Re: The Politics Thread

John McDonnell smashing it this lunchtime. Probably convinced me into putting my x next to them again I’ve not seen it, but Watson leaving, and then Ian Austin openly telling people to vote conservative could be deeply damaging. It really will be a case of those who are deemed least shit by the ele...

Re: The Politics Thread

^^^ I haven't voted for anybody yet. Tango shakes head and gives up. It's almost tea time. You did say you were leaning towards Boris, and earlier in the thread were adamant you weren’t voting labour. It’s a discussion forum and it’s interesting that you’re turning away from the party that seems to...

Re: The Politics Thread

Given your main complaints seemn to be cuts, and financial services taking priority over industry (i think that's a fair summary of what you're saying but perhaps not) I just don't get why you'd vote for the Tories, the party of austerity who seem to have made defending billionaires an explicit pil...

Re: The Politics Thread

Just to clarify so I can try to make sense of it all, the first 24 hours of the Conservative campaign have been fun. We’ve had a minister claiming he’d have survived Grenfell as he would have had the common sense to get out, then another MP confirming that yes, said minister is very clever which is ...

Have the Jocks superceded the Yanks as our globe's most litigious nation! "Yes, we read your terms and conditions. Yes, we signed the agreement. Yes, we now wish to challenge that we ever agreed to this." F*cking wankers. After all their complaining about the game potentially being cancelled they’v...

Re: Keith Hill's School For Gifted Youngsters

It’s all very strange, and seems a bit too much of our dirty laundry being made public. Brave on Hill’s part too, as fans seem to have a soft spot for Lee, Phillips and the academy. I’m happy to trust Hill for now.

Re: Keith Hill's School For Gifted Youngsters

Blimey, I never rated Adam Bogdan. In fact, I'd go as far as to say he's our worst Goalie since Simon Farnworth. However, I didn't expect him to be jobless at 32. Surely he’s only clubless through his own choice? He must have been on a decent wage (probably dramatically overpaid given his ability) ...

Re: The Politics Thread

"In a letter to the complainant, the BBC added that "audiences should not be able to tell" the opinions of its journalists on matters of public policy." This apparently extends to an "opinion" that "racism is bad". I’d love to know who complained. Who was sitting at home thinking ‘can’t be ha...

Sarah Taylor's retired. Such a sad day for the game that they've put it on the early evening news. :conf: She’s an absolutely class wicketkeeper Bruce. Probably the most natural I’ve seen standing up to the stumps. It’s worth looking for some YouTube clips of her leg side stumpings as they’re thing...

I suspect Mahmood and Parkinson are there for experience and for staff to have a closer look at them and a chance to work with them over winter. Both great prospects but I agree they need a little more 4 day cricket first.

Re: The Politics Thread

"Surrender Act" How jolly offensive! It’s more language though that plays into the image that is constantly being portrayed that leaving the EU is war-like. We’ve had it all along from people on both sides, but now the PM is leading the calls. There’s clearly some numb nuts out there who will buy i...

Re: New ownership - Football Ventures

Great appointment. AG is very very sharp and also loves the club. Pleased with how FV are going about this. He was a big part in making deal happen too. Exactly. However, social media is abound by those who don't know the first thing about anything, sounding off their annoyance at his appointment. ...
