Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....

No surprises with this announcement; https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/23966639.bolton-wanderers-declan-john-heading-january-exit/ No surprises whatsoever. Shame really, but hardly unexpected. Weve had a number of players under Evatts tenure and indeed previously that have struggled in the LB r...

Re: Club Record

We play 1st, 11th, 16th, 9th, 21st in that order, as it stands.

The boxing day fixture vs Lincoln will be interesting. Very little rest coming up against a top half side might just be a tough challenge.

The real question is, what tally will we finish on?

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

I'd hope we don't do too much business in the transfer window. The squad doesn't need overhauling. If anything I'd be expecting the club to be looking longer term, any young promising players with potential. Matheson fits that criteria quite well. Presumably there needs to be a succession plan in pl...

We owe Wigan one and knocking Stockport out the tournament would be nice. Probably th...

Hopefully Dan wont be too disheartened by the saved penalty. He scored the first one so there's that.

It's a shame Jerome didn't take it. He did well to win the penalty.

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Well 2-0. Should've been 3. Not overly convincing but bread and butter stuff. Felt like the players were going through the motions today instead of going for the jugular. Port Vale stubborn defensively and had a good ten mins after half time, but we weathered the storm and kept the unbeaten run goin...

His run up was that slow everyone ended up in the box. Never a fan of those! Sheehan is the pen man isn’t he?
He has before, usually Charles.

Why put it in exactly the same spot is what i'm wondering

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Dammit, would've liked Jerome to have taken the pen. N'lundulu with the finish. Seems like he stopped in the run up so don't think that was allowed, can argue stop start walking but it may just get overturned for encroachment perhaps? Retaken and saved. Loads of people in the box when it was first s...

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Some good stuff from Bolton here. Nice link up play with Charles, Adeboyejo and CMG. Time for subs surely. Lads up top deserve a run out. Vic certainly getting into the game here, could've easily have got an assist there had Charles' effort hit the back of the net. I'd like to see Jerome come on (an...

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Harsh on Dempsey that I think he was standout. Anyway they are racking up the set pieces here Dempsey was good and had the bigger impact (assist), Maghoma generally stood out more I thought. Morley didn't seem to do anything outstanding or anything badly. Getting a bit concerned how everything seem...

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

3 subs at half time! All 3 midfielders by the looks of it Might be indicative of the standards dropping in midfield towards the latter part of the first half. Definitely a good amount of effort by those three so dont really see the need for the change. Maybe a chance for all the midfielders to play...

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Feels like the speed has gone from the game. Maybe it'll ramp up in the second half, but right now we're just not getting out of first gear. Not the usual effort levels and Port Vale just doing a good enough job to frustrate our attack.

Overplaying it to create a chance for Victor…have a go!
I think the issue was it being on his left foot, given he was that far in-field. That's twice now, JDC and another being a little reluctant to shoot after working a decent angle.

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Victor's touch is dreadful. He's been found wanting a couple of times. However, i'd also like to flag that there was a good chance he'd helped in the build up with a decent touch into someone else's path. So its not all bad, just not as good as desired. Think he just needs some confidence, or somet...

Just took a look at some of the other scores. Nice to see the U21's losing for the most part.

Liverpool U21's down to 10 men with Jason Koumas' kid sent off, and with Jay Spearing on the bench. Always find that strange, seasoned pros being eligible for the U21s.

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Feel like Coleman's dalliance on the ball's gonna cost him one of these days. Quite like it for the first 5 to 10 seconds he's doing it, but then he just makes it last too long. Feels like its taunting the opposition.

Not a pen for Charles, not a dive either. Unfortunate collision.

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Interesting play from their midfielders, spinning on the ball and then driving through the centre. Seen it a few times already.

Maybe they've been to the Barry Bannan school of Ballet.

Lovely build up and finish. Dempsey's hard work making it easy as you like for Charles.
