Re: Next Manager Poll

Not overly fussed if a manager has a connection to the club or not. I'd not like someone who has issues with the club or fanbase (looking at you Megson). Ideally I want someone who plays quite similar to Evatt, but doesn't allow us to get put under pressure by playing out of the back as much as Evat...

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

Just heard Jack Dearden, finally a question that gets to it. You said that at Wembley and Huddersfield. Well done sir. To look at Evatt's side of things. What else is he going to say? Hand's are pretty much tied. There were loads of instances in his first season with us. That initial spell where we...

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

Mate, we've been dicked 5-0. This isn't exactly the time and place to be putting things into context. Losing 5-0 is still pretty raw. At the end of the season this 5-0 will look irrelevant if we get promoted, but that's a big if, and that's a pattern, one that's been repeated over the past three se...

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

I want this side, this manager, to come good. I'd love it if he made us all eat our words. I want him to achieve his ambition to be the first to manage a single side through all four tiers. But... He can offer excuses all he likes, but I'm afraid there's a very worrying pattern going on. And even I...

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

Having obtained a job at the club recently, I'll probably have to deal with the fallout of this result. Do you do the managerial office deep-clean? (Seriously though, congrats) I don't really want to say too much, but it's more on the admin side. With it being a dream job and all,, I'm going to be ...

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

The whole things just embarrassing. Win a few games against burton, Stevenage etc Get a game against a team in a local derby (or who consider us a local derby, whatever), or a game against a team in the top 6 who will be up for it against (lol) one of the ‘best teams in the league) and we fecking w...

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

I see George Johnston has said the players own it, they sent the staff out and had a frank discussion post match. I wouldn't mind it if this wasn't the only time this had happened. Saying they own it and frank discussions mean nothing if we're not going to turn it around. Stockport just got battere...

Well, missed that game in its entirety. Sounds like I picked the right one to miss. Shocking that we'd lose 5-0 to someone whose just lost 5-0.

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

I'd be tempted to repeat the antics of last match with the 5-2-3 formation. Sure Stockport are a wounded animal and will be looking to grind out a result against us one way or another. Getting them panicking and defending all match will help. Failing that, we revert to the 5-3-2

CMG back in training. Geth back in B-team action.

Upcoming possibility of a selection headache for Evatt, or at least a few extra options to have on the bench for Saturday.

I suspect Jones and CMG are likely to appear in the Fleetwood game.

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

Morley's renaissance certainly screams 'Andranik' at the moment. I'm glad he's doing well at Wycombe, but he had his chances here and he didn't take them or even look remotely like taking them before we loaned him out. Loaning him out looks like a terrible idea given we've replaced him with Scott Ar...

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....

Good news everyone!
Gethin Jones was back in action for the B-team today.

Bad news, they lost 5-2. Not sure how involved Geth was in those, nor does it matter. Just good to have people back from injury.

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

Plenty are willing to play on, but not at the expense of their careers. Plenty *do* play on, at the expense of their careers. They play on, inadvertently at the expense of the careers. Dempsey esque back injury for example could have been one of them. I suspect them playing on would be playing on w...

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

Given Thomason got injured in training (and I suspect a few others). Perhaps we should be giving them less opportunities to train. When you realise we're talking professional footballers, that's a bit like saying " You're not paid to train, just play football". I find that a bit mind-blowing. You m...

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

It's a bit of a balancing act when it comes to cup selection and chasing trophies when you are in the third tier. Yes everyone wants that big 3rd round tie , a money spinner etc but not at the cost of promotion. Its a fact if we get up this season , as we should have last season tbh , we would be f...

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

Have we been told to bow out of the cups? If so, that's two out of three done and the other's in in our hands a week on Tuesday - if Fleetwood beat us they'll go through instead of us I'd sort of put money on it as it stands. Weve done just enough to make it look like we've given it a good go witho...

No we’ve clearly given it a good go and I don’t know how many players they have rested either. And it’s never a good feeling to lose. But head on this one is it’s the right thing to do.
Always was going to be tricky when they're in such good form. Ah well. FT 2-1.
