Re: Grabbing life by the bullocks. Oxford (H) 17.9.19 KO 8pm

Clean sheet and a point. Gotta be chuffed with that. and by all accounts a good performance. Season starts here? Let’s hope so. Absolutely. Some really encouraging stuff by the sounds of it. The matchday / evening experience is definitely a more fraught affair when relying on Livescore and DJBlu's ...

4ucking big fat lot of good the Leveson Inquiry did then?! What absolute c*nts! Sadly though, I guess many will do /have done what I did. Having read Stokes's statement - gone straight to The Sun's site to see what it's all about. Must say though, nothing had quite prepared me for the depths ...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....

There's nothing in his domestic policy agenda that "scares" me. Bit further left than me, but fine. What does scare me is a) his lack of judgment (probably the most important quality in a PM) and b) his international outlook and what that means for our international relations. I think I'd rather ha...

Re: General Chit Chat

Whatever happened to woollen swimming costumes? You come round here with your technical textiles. I demand a return to being dragged under water by absorptive swimsuits. ;) Just for interest sake and mentioning textiles: Did you know that nylon was introduced as a material for making stockings in 1...

He comes across like an absolute fruitcake in that post match interview.
Rochdale fans did say he had a particularly odd style in interviews, better get used to it.
To be fair, I used to cringe when Allardyce gave post match interviews.

Busy weekend and whatnot, this is the first time I've had a chance to see the goals. Our defending is little short of frightening. A lack of ability I can put up with, it's the lack of desire to win the ball / close down that I struggle with

That’ll be Expected Saves, then. I doubt they do them down at our level. Ahh, 'expected'. Transitioning nicely back to my starting point of 'opinion', then?! 😉 Yes, the ones collated by Opta Opinions. No, wait a minute, Opta Stats. :D As usual, I suspect the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I un...

Re: What a load of bollocks.

According to some media reports (The Guardian being one who commented) there has been talk of the organisers of Strictly Come Dancing discussing the future possibilities of same-sex partner dancing in the show. WHAT?!?! The world of arts and dance is no place for same-sex couples. The very notion's...

Re: The athletics/running thread

The Isabel Trail parkrun tomorrow near Stafford. I've got so into this geeky collecting that I need a parkrun beginning with I for my alphabet collecting. The only others are Ipswich and Inverness! 2.5k along a flat tarmac path on an old railway line then back again. Boring and featureless but fast...

294 all out? Whadda we think? Reasonable?

I have subjected this question to some in depth analysis and thought and concluded that it's better than 67 all out! You're welcome!

Re: What is our best starting eleven?

Bit busy today and the numbers aren't easy to find at third-tier level, but as "saves made" is [attempts on target] minus [goals], it's not quite the shots-per-goal you request but it's not far off it. Soz, should of course read 'saves' made. My broader point though in relation to simply presenting...

If we’ve only got two spaces left then I suggest a striker and versatile defender must be priority. Certainly if Daryl Murphy is injured as seems to be the case.
Isn't a left back a priority? A speedy one at that?
