Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

750k feels like a figure we would seriously consider at this point. Of course, it won't be the total amount up-front. Feels like we’d be considering any sort of serious offer for anyone tbh. I’d be sad to see Thommo go but it’s clear Schumacher and Harkin feel a total rebuild was necessary and that...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

It looks like we've now reached the 'Outbound' stretch of the transfer window and we're bound to lose at least one midfield player. Personally, I'd sooner it was Sheehan and I'd definitely want to keep Morley. As far as Tommo goes, whilst he's a trier, he's too 'hit and miss' for me and another £750...

Re: Pre-season 2025

We look a lot more compact at the back and we're dropping into a defined shape which is denying them any space, although there's a hint of the Freedman stylee 'letting them have the ball'. Like most pre season games, there won't be much we can take from it, but I'm happy we're looking a lot more soli...

Re: League One 25/26 - the Runners and Riders, or Schumacher's First Strike

Some interesting reactions from Blackpool fans around their signing of Ennis:

"He's got glass ankles"
"The treatment room is gonna be busy"
"Couldn't hit a cow's aris"

Some slightly more positive, but not the coup we might have thought had he come to us.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Elsewhere, I see that utter **** Cosgrove is playing in an Untouchables 11 match for an out of contract side at Worksop Town tonight. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.......apart from Johnny Evans obviously.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Marc Iles , reporting on yesterday's closed doors match v Tranmere, points out that Morley was taken off in the second half "But no reason has been given by the club"

Am I just bored and reading too much into that, or was he subtly hinting at something? ?

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Benik Adobe, possibly THE worst striker I've ever seen in a Bolton shirt had shocking numbers before us, one outstanding season and a couple of decent ones after. IIRC Macginlay hadn't set the world on fire before arriving here. Numbers, statistics and damn lies. They'll all get a clean sheet and a c...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Barnsley have apparently had a big bid in for Luka Connell from a 'League 1 rival'. Can't see it being us, I predict Wycombe, which might mean no bid for Morley.

Interesting that a good number of their fans commenting would be delighted to see him go after last season.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Surely the whole idea of having a DoF and a whole team of ex Argyle recruitment staff is that we don't need a manager to be around 24/7?

Nice that we kept this largely under wraps until it was done.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Salford don't seem to be reeling under a rush of other bidders for N'mai, so we may well be back in for him at some stage. They need cash for their own rebuild. At some stage they'll blink, or his agent will start pushing one would think.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Tucked away in an article on midfield options, Iles mentions that Ceesay wasn't in the squad for Norrkoping's game last night. But, before we all get a bit giddy, he wasn't in the squad for their previous game at the end of May, so probably nothing in it. Talk from the Swedish side is that the agen...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

And we wonder why agents get a bad name..... :spank:

In other news, I see Danny Ward has just signed for Wrexham. Another one we were allegedly looking at, at some stage.

Re: Are we up for the cups in 2025/26?

No. Feck the cups and all who play in them. Put the B side out in every one and let HMS PTL set sail, unhindered by pointless matches in front of 3300 fans.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

It's an interesting shift for us, moving back into the Scottish market. As no one over 40 can utter the words 'Show reel' without immediately thinking of Daniel Braaten, the very idea of us dabbling in Scotland still raises the ancient spectre of Steve McAnespie. I'm certain we've moved on from that...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I suspect we'll be keeping Schõn, but otherwise, no disagreement from me on the above. I suspect we'll get bids in for Morley based on last season at Wycombe, where he was a stand out performer but he's the only one of the above midfield 3 I'd want to keep. Tomo can do a job, but I'll be gutted if w...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Personally, I'd take Ennis in a heartbeat. A pacey striker playing off Dalby, he's the type of player we need. Barkuizen less so. He could prove to be a shrewd signing......or he could be another Nicky Summerbee.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

If the rumours surrounding Dion's exit have even a smidgeon of truth about them ( The woman he got pregnant allegedly now being in a relationship with Aunty Sharon's son) then there's no chance he's coming anywhere near us again. Huddersfield fans would see him gone in a heartbeat and I wouldn't be ...
