Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
I have a lot of time for Dempsey, but can see him being loaned out if we can't get shot of McAtee. Shame, as I do think he offers a lot, particularly as an impact sub.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Simons in, which I'm very pleased about, but presumably that means a loan or move out for Tommo or An Other? We're certainly not messing about here, which is great to see. One hard case centre back and we have the spine of the team sorted

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Can we just take a moment to spare a thought for poor Pru? This is his transfer thread and we're just about to sell our only goal scorer, ergo, it's all his fault.
On second thoughts, depending on his replacement, I'll buy the rope, has anyone got a pitchfork or two??

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Presumably, we'll be making him request a transfer, as paying his deal up would leave us with virtually nothing, given he's got two years left. I honestly can't think of any other transfer we've done, where our most valuable player has been sold and I've been this ambivalent. I can just imagine the ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
If a 20 goal striker is going to be available for around the £1 million mark, I can see Cardiff, Wycombe and maybe one or two others in L1 who might be tempted, along with a couple of Championship clubs. I suspect an MK Dons opening bid and an acknowledgment that we are prepared to sell, might well...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Interesting point in Iles' article announcing the signing. We scored just seven headed goals last season, one of the lowest totals in the football pyramid. Let's hope Dalby goes part way to sorting that issue. It also ( In part) reinforces my point about our centre backs needing to contribute more g...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Lots of talk around Sheehan in that midfield. I for one am praying we get a bid in for him. He's woeful defensively and doesn't offer enough going forward. He's been a major factor in some of our losses last season, failing to put a foot in and constantly slowing the pace down to a crawl ( Baxter be...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Much as I like both Forrester and George J, they can both go for me. Toal and Forino plus one other experienced head gives us a bit more steel in the centre, but critically also offers potential goals at the other end. In League 1, you need your centre backs to be weighing in with double figures bet...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
I'm.not especially excited by this one on the face of it.....but.... Strikers are odd beings. This time last year, we ooh'd and aaah'd as Steve Evans landed Johnson Clarke Harris very early doors. Oops In January, you could hear the crowing of Huddersfield fans across the Pennines, as they signed tw...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Looks like Argyle may have tabled another £750k bid for Jatta. I can't see us having the funds to match that, which is a shame as signing a 6'4 quick front man who can find the net would get the pulse going early doors. In Schuey we trust.

Walsall have just lost in the play offs. Does that make a Jellis signing more likely? 5 days and counting…….

Re: Yorkshire Relish. Away to Barnsley Sat Apr 12th 3-0'clock.
If we can get money for any of our midfielders, I wouldn’t be keeping any of them, Morley perhaps, but that’s it. Sheehan has been a huge part of the problem for me and I just don’t want to see him at the club next season. Same with Tomo now, although I love the shift he puts in, we really should ha...

Re: Yorkshire Relish. Away to Barnsley Sat Apr 12th 3-0'clock.
Considering what we’ve had to work with, finishing above Barnsley, Peterborough and Rotherham is arguably a decent result this season. I predicted 8th before the season kicked off and that’s where we’re headed.
It’ll be an absolute nightmare if Reading get points deducted and 7th take their place!

Our man taken out by Connell there, the man we should have spent the million on, rather than another lightweight number ten Randall.

Re: Yorkshire Relish. Away to Barnsley Sat Apr 12th 3-0'clock.
Has Sheehan touched the ball that half? There’s been a yawning gap in centre midfield which we’ve only just plugged.
The season effectively ended with a whimper on Tuesday night, but this has put the cap on it. Simply awful and indicative of the huge rebuild that’s now needed.

Re: Trouble at't Mill(ers". At home to Rotherham, Tuesday 8th Apr. 19-45.
I had them down for promotion at the start of the season, given what seemed to be some excellent recruitment and a manager that knows the league well. It just goes to show. 3 points by any means is a must. Huddersfield have a tough game against Wycombe, so some clear water between us and them would ...

How the fekitty feck did Mcmanaman not get sent off for that?!
Up to 6th but the chasing pack are close behind and we need to step it up a gear, we’re not playin* at all well. I’ll take that result though!

5h1t or bust now. 3 points from a late winner or it’s season over and a slow wind down to summer with nothing to play for.
