Sweet Jesus, how did we win that after that first half??! And how did that ball not go in for them in the last minute?!

We were utterly awful at times, very much like Tuesday night, but ground out a result. Made my Saturday that! Onwards, but not apparently upwards I think?

Awful defending at both ends and I'm betting IE is effing, jeffing and screaming his lungs out in the dressing room. So far, we've struggled to control the pace of the game and we seem to be in panic mode every time the ball comes forward. Embarrassing from Charles at the end there, but we're just n...

That's the first time we've put two passes together. We're all over the place at the back! Desperate for someone to put aa foot on the ball and slow this down as they're dictating the pace here.

We looked tired, jaded and out of sorts in midweek and I have an awful feeling about this one as a result. As usual, I'd take a point away from home.I think IE has set us up to keep this tight for 65 minutes, then hit them with Dapo. let's hope the gameplan doesn't get blown out of the water early d...

Re: A Tutu won't do. V Cambridge at the Unibol Tues Feb 1st, 8-0'clock. 1

We’re bound to face a brick wall tonight, with eleven shirts behind the ball for much of the game. Tempo is going to be key to breaking them down and I hope we can maintain the press and move the ball quickly on the transition tonight. If we can get a reasonably early goal, their game plan will have...

I’d take a point now, but three would be massive and psychologically, potentially huge for us as a team as we enter the run in. I still think we’ll finish 10th, but a win tomorrow could make for a very exciting three and a half months!

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

Sweet Jesus, we’re a League one side who have managed to pull in an international striker under 30 and not some no mark who once played three matches for Burkina Faso under 23’s. This one is a real, live, current international. I’m not really sure what some of you want or expect?! If he’s sh1te, he’...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

An excellent post by Pru above, to which I would add the following: In the last season that we were promoted from this division, our two centre backs, Wheats and Beevers scored 16/17 goals between them. To my recall, we've scored just one headed goal in the last 50 games or so, a stat which is as sh...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

Letting Doyle go has been a financial decision I suspect. He was probably one of highest wage earners in the squad and this season has proved that he’s now well past his best and is too slow at this level. Paying him for another 18 months wasn’t good financial sense and presumably, as he requested t...

I did flirt with inviting Adolf or Stalin, just to see if they really were completely tonto, but I’d go with a current (Alive) list…. Rachel Paris Lucy Veraswami (I dont care if you think thats shallow…..it is…..very…..) Jay Rayner Sade Adu Sanjeev Bhaskar and a very much not alive list Patrick Moor...

Really surprised we’ve not managed to sell a thousand tickets for this one. I know it’s a Tuesday night and 150 miles away, but still.

Hang on Harry, that can't be right, everyone knows the real problem in the NHS is health tourism by 'Foriners' and asylum seekers overwhelming the system. The Daily Heil, sorry Mail, says so. How dare you try to blame New Bury and Tonge Moor's finest for violence, intimidation and theft. We won the ...

I’m getting nervous. I just can’t see this not going to the last day. Mind you, I’d settle for that seeing as ten weeks ago, it looked like we might be fighting to maintain our football league status. Scarce to start for me. They have to come out and try to get three points, so I c@n see a cagey sta...

Re: Minefields and banana skins.V Oldham Athletic away Tues 2nd March 7'O clock.

I firmly predict that this will be the most boring match of the season, a 0-0 draw in sub zero conditions on an appalling pitch. To be honest, I'd be absolutely delighted with a point and a clean sheet. I'd be tempted to rest Doyle and start with Miller. The team news will be interesting solely to s...

Re: Will the wheel drop off? Barrow (h) 27/02/21 15:00

Once again we struggled against a team who came and parked the bus. But for some woeful finishing from them, we’d have lost today. Too pedestrian throughout, I thought we missed Thomasson’s business and positivity in the centre and the cross field balls he plays to create space. Way too often we fan...

Re: Today I'm happy about......

Blimey, nobody happy since Christmas! I had my first jab yesterday, so I'm very happy. The vaccination programme seems to be the one thing we've done reasonably well as a country in the last few years and the only thing we've got right as far as the virus is concerned. That having been said, the vac...
