...and for many of us we may never see anything like it again in our lifetimes. :hang: fxckin'ell it's being so cheery that keeps one going. About a hundred years ago at the Dell.. seconds after [from increasingly dodgy Memory] Barry Horne[?] had parted Disco Dave Felgates fuzzy felt perm wit...

Re: A Hard Day's Night by Lennon & McCarthy (A) Ipswich 3/11
Whilst diminishing investment is a massive problem. The ownership of the club really difficult given he no longer wants to invest the argument that it is impossible to be better than we are simply isn't true. Plenty of times managers have come in and been right up against it in terms of funding and...

Re: A Hard Day's Night by Lennon & McCarthy (A) Ipswich 3/11
No doubt Lennon has brought in a lot of , thus far, apparent dross. Or definite dross in the case of Madine! But If player turnover is motivated more or as much by bargain bucket, reduce the overhead, as by seeking to improve you will end up where we are. As a recently retired public servant I fully...

Re: All quiet on the Preston front - 31/10/15
Admittedly I didn't go to the match and I didn't watch it live....I watched it this morning in the cold light of day, knowing the result. I might get laughed at for this, but I didn't think it was as bad as some people make out. It was a dull boring match, granted, and we are very short on confiden...

Re: All quiet on the Preston front - 31/10/15
I've no idea how he can justify only a yellow. Presumably he felt there was no intent. Intent is irrelevant. If you deny a clear goal scoring opportunity whether on purpose or by accident it is a red card. And that was a clear goal scoring opportunity. Well, that's a new Law on me then. Straight fr...

Re: Bedsheets, Pitchforks and colours nailed etc.
NL in the BN . Interesting. [The squad must be bolstered] Otherwise we could get cast adrift and it will be a long season. But I do think there is plenty of football to be played. I don’t know how much [budget] I have got – whether that’s from the owner or the chairman. We have talked about players...

Re: 24th v 4th - Birmingham (h) 20/10/15
I can see the appeal of the "quick vertical" against a defence featuring Paul fecking Robinson (5ft 9in, nearly 37, never had any pace to lose). Trouble is, he kept a clean sheet and scored. A man not good enough for us 3(?) seasons ago? Turns slower than milk with glacial pace and guaranteed 6 red...

Re: 24th v 4th - Birmingham (h) 20/10/15
"We had two off the line at one point and you've got to score. We decided to go two up because Birmingham let you have possession and we thought we'd take that away and be a bit more direct. It's this statement I can't get my head round. Go direct because a team lets you have the ball? What a ludic...

Re: Worried!!
You might think it's a load of bollocks but it's the only analysis of the accounts I've seen that isn't, where people tend to claim that Eddie is in it for some tax dodge or is milking the club dry, or has misunderstood the going concern statement. Honestly, really!!! you believe that there...

Re: Ram Bam, Thank You Ma'am. Derby match thread
Just wonder who will play in the middle at the back, no Derik, no Wheater, isn't Dervite suspended after being sent off in the last game v Brum? So that leaves Ream, who hadn't played a preseason game for us plus one of the U21s from Taylor, Holding and Finney. I feel a tonking coming on . :( Dervi...

Do suspensions carry over?
Matters not I suspect we'll get gomped on whoever we put at the back...

Re: Stadium names
Personally my opinion about the naming of the stadium is largely tied to the performance of the team.. When we moved there it was all optimism and new chapters. Reebok was a massive brand and there was some pride in the association. So whilst not Burnden it was a pretty impressive 'state of the art'...

Re: Lennon, four months in.
4months in?? I can't see any redeeming features in our defence at the moment. There isn't one I'd be gutted if we lost. I'll give Vela leeway - he's clearly not a right back. In the midfield, there's a couple you might keep out of choice, but right now, the only really bright spark is Clough. (mayb...

Re: Lennon, four months in.
4months in?? I want Lenny to succeed - and we are a great place for him to make his English league name - he's a long way from doing that - so we need not fear losing him next week - and I think he CAN do it... I doubt it will be because the club gives him squillions to spend - so - excuses about p...

Re: Ding dong do.....Round 2
Really proud of my team. Really proud of the effort. If anyone thinks Trotter is to blame for the defeat, you should get yer head looked at.   You go for a pee when they scored then? Trotter was culpable for the first ball watching - second is debatable but if Danns already on a yel...
