Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Teddy, Xavier and Sam...it's a worry on the naming front, but I've not seen much hair gel so far which is a big plus point.

Good to see we're going about our business targeting those areas where we knew we had biggest problems. Just need to start bussing the wet wipes out now.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

State of play lineup with Simons and TSL included, and Collins still just about here. lineup-builder.png Thomason for Randall without a shadow of doubt. And I suspect Forino with Toal. Johnstone left back as it stands. We will go for a big physical team not a bunch of midgets. I don't want Thomason...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

From Iles in the BN… It appears Schumacher’s plans to change the playing style and shape at Wanderers mean that there could be a knock-on effect for the club’s surplus of secondary strikers and ‘number 10s’ – and that Collins, John McAtee, Joel Randall and Klaidi Lolos may not be guaranteed the sam...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Daft thought-experiment sidebar: Just looking through AC's goals. 7 of his 19 were in the cups. Of his 12 league goals, 6 altered the result: 5 came in single-goal wins, 1 in a draw. The other 6 were either in bigger wins or ones we lost anyway. Playing the old "if his goals were expunged" gamr, an...

Re: The Politics Thread

Sorta yes and maybe no. What I (think) I have said lots, is that it would IMO be nigh on impossible to deliver anything like enough to have a consistent market impact across the UK, to do what you and Labour are suggesting it might by flooding the market... Maybe but we need to build more. That’s n...

Re: The Politics Thread

£39Bn announced for social and affordable housing. This is why it was critical to divorce capital from day to day spending in the fiscal rules. The number isn't really that important - I mean nice that it's a chunk. It's what they do with it, given that they don't (generally) own any land and don't...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I mentioned Simons in this thread's January predecessor, before he was lent to Wycombe to replace Morley. If memory serves, he's a six-footer but also Chelsea-bred so he should be able to pass the thing too. This feels a bit like one of those where we get mentioned as "one of a host of clubs being ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Not sure the expectations on signing him in terms of immediate first team impact will have been the same, I always felt that Dan was maybe somewhere between 4th and 5th on the list. Sam is going to have to do heavier lifting than that, even though we paid nowt for him.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Four-year deal caught my eye Yeah, he better be good… A four year deal for a lad who's 25 and relatively unproven is actually quite a massive risk. I get that we've probably beaten out competiton from the divison above due to giving him a longer deal, but I really hope we don't get burned again her...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

The window shuts at 7pm today and re-opens on Monday. I'm looking forward to a plethora of new signing announcements (and several departures) next week. How can we make transfers windows even more ridiculous? No doubt sky sports news are holding a count down. Gotta say this one has me somewhat baff...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I don’t see any combination of Thomason, Morley and Sheehan being much better than another. I’d be looking to sell one of them. I think it's a bit situational - if we think we're going to be on the front foot, I'd me more likely to play Sheehan/Morley, if we're in for more of a fight, I'd probably ...

No sir! We can always offer opinion on underwhelming signings, without even knowing what formation we might have! :-)

You just keep that teak tough midfielder at the front of the queue, mate. :-)

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

That worries me. They could go straight through Randall and Sheehan. No idea whether Conway is anywhere near good enough to sit the same side as Sheehan, behind Collins, Tutu terrifies me, defensively, Apart from that - mid table. I think I'll wait until we've finished the window, before offering fo...

lineup (1).png If I could work out how to post a picture on here I'd do this with lineup builder, but as is I'll have to do it manually.
