Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign

You're going to get big asks at the top end of the Division. It really comes with the territory. I'll want an early goal or two in all of 'em TBF. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one team in the mix (at least) didn't get the "we're going up" bonus, when you go on a roll and play with swagger and e...

Hmmmm - getting a definite whiff of spin early from the 4th test as they've released Jasprit from squad...and they've only played 2 tests at Ranchi and only ever needed to bat once in each....Feels like this might be a genuine spin test...
Cue England selecting 5 seamers!
Or 10 "Batsmen" :-)

Re: Contract expiry

Each player is of course in a slightly different situation. Some, like Rico, Baxter, Toal and Sheehan are likely quite confident that they are Championship level players, and may be hesitant to sign new deals prior to the end of the season, even if we baked in significant wage rises for promotion. ...

Re: Contract expiry

I'm sure the club are aware, but there's a few players who'd be starting next season in the final year of their contract and who I'd really rather we didn't end up losing on a free. Perhaps more pertinently, I'd imagine the players themselves and their respective agents are also aware. I'd imagine ...

He is "much better", even at 31 from an individual skill and ability perspective but based on how Evatt wants his players to run in his system, not sure even Messi at 36 would be a sure pick in our first 11.
Cheers

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

And he's not particularly what's needed. We don't play with a 10, and even for the jobs closest to that role we've already got other players like CMG, Collins and Bod. As Dibs says, smells like agent talk. Morrison is much better than these players, and can play in a no. 6 Sheehan role also if aske...

If we're heading down that route TD, to our politicians.

Re: Contract expiry

Not sure about where the numbers have come from, but there's a world of difference between having the same "job title" and "doing the same job, to the same level of capability/competence, for the same amount of time." :-)

Like night & day that!!! Good second half effort to recover from a sub-par first half I like that shape away from home though, with someone in the hole. I think it can work. Maghoma was getting dogs on twitter for slipping, but he continues to impress me. 3 goals in 5 games now for him, but he's go...

Yeah - as someone who doesn't always "see" Sheehan, I think your comment probably covers it. At this level with space, he'll boss it. If we're a bit more back foot or they're pressing directly in and around Sheehan (notably some teams, I think maybe Barnsley stands out) they look to really unsettle ...

Re: Well played from a Pompey fan.

Why are people burying their head in the sands over this? If our losses are more than double our income then we're on track for administration. £163 at the moment... £200+ next year... £250+ the year after that... when will it stop? Face it... we're f***ed. It probably costs more to service those d...

The examples given don't seem to indicate Div 7 is included. But agree it's not clear given they've included the Scottish leagues! :-)
