Re: Pre-season, 2024(/25)

"Santos took a knock just before the final whistle and seemed to be in a bit of discomfort leaving the pitch."

1-1

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Ha! They weren't knocked back kids on £500 a week. Genuine lol at the idea Sam would have had any time whatsoever for testing out random kids. Which is a criticism of the process itself but it's cheap and will take time. Matheson came from the premiership and has nearly 50 league appearances in his...

What's the current situation with George Johnston? Here's a man who could solve problems for us. How long is he out for?
Played against Chorley, I thought?

Re: 2024, hoodwink and bamboozle the public

Ah, ah, ah, ah. Not quite stopped laughing about labours £85 billion company not actually producing any electricity, didn't tell you that did the little bacon butty oddlooking nut job? Pounds for the pals of Greta. Meanwhile a mysterious £20 billion black hole is expected to be announced after Robo...

Re: Rugby Union

7's is rugby mate! The Hong Kong 7's used to be a highlight. Fiji who were very decent last World Cup, used to be absolute terrors at international 7's (because it's easier to find 7 international class rugby players than 15.

Might catch some over the weekend. :-)

Re: Our formation

Like I said. Thinking about what we do have, rather than what we don't and taking into account that not all 6's do the same thing. Some teams have them more attacking, some more defensive. Where do you think Sheehan plays? Whether you think he's a 6 or not, wasn't what I was talking about. That's ge...

Re: Our formation

^^There will be better sides in this league next season and sides that we will have to slug it out in tight games against where we see less of the ball. If we don’t have a dominant midfield type who can control that area off the ball I fear that will be a very very significant issue. I don't disagr...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

I’ve seen some internet bods talking about Sheehan going to Derby. I wasn’t paying attention for a few months, so would be interested to know whether that rumour came from a credible source? seem to remember some Derby fan-site saying someone like Sheehan would be ideal for them - that was about a ...

Re: Division Three, 2024/25

We be saying "we'll never get this lot up to speed with how we play, much before Christmas, because we've injured most of them and they need to learn how to play football."

Nowt to worry about.

I notice most of the outlay has been abroad and Scotland for their 4 largest signings...

Yeah agree with that. 343, especially if one of them is more of a central midfielder that a winger allows you to stiffen up. You can turn it into a 541 and squeeze out midfield. At the most basic level your committing one fewer person ahead of the ball so should be more solid.
Yes to this. :-)

Kamala, Leader of the Free World. I guess Hobes will think it's brat and can't wait to join the party.... More chance that you win the presidency than Kamala worthy! I think she is in a better place than Biden and neither are going to sway core Reps/MAGA. I think Dems she'll solidify what...

Re: Our formation

I think he's improved as a tackler and showed a lot more willing to get stuck in last season (which in part might have been more confidence if how his leg would hold up from injury.) I don't think it's controversial to say Sheehan goes missing. He was a passenger v Oxford. But - and this is the impo...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Rotherham didn't recontract at least three players with more than 20 appearances...Heavier lifting to do. I don't question whether Evatt is competent or trying to piss off the fanbase, just whether he's going to get us up. If everyone's struggling because of the Euro's, that's level playing field fo...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Yeah, we heard lots about our ability to score goals and 86 in the League is an impressive tally. Not our most impressive tally ever, but pretty decent. I'd happily trade 6 v an Exeter side in disarray, for two v Derby and two v Wigan away..

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

We are the polar opposite of what you (not unresonably) suggest Tango. I don't think IE is a big proponent of "unpredictable." Spreadsheet football at it's most acute. Take out player thinking, double down on system thinking. For me there needs to be more of a balance and some sort of workable alter...
