Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

Aye - absolutely no-one's reaction after Oxford was that we didn't have talented enough players. Fake News! There was at least 1 (and I suspect a few more), not convinced by plenty of our players/squad - it was a pretty regular conversation in the latter half of the season as we wilted. That's not ...

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

FWIW on the Buff podcast this week Iles gives it more context and confirms that Sharon does seem to regret not replacing Markham, rather than Evatt, last summer and taken some duties/responsibilities/(and therefore authority) off Evatt. However, as he notes, that would have been a very difficult se...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Like it or not he’s a far better player than Morley and Sheehan particularly as you move up levels. Harsh/presumptuous on Morley, IMO. I think he's a much better passer than Thomo and I'm intrigued to see how he gets on under Schumacher after a promising season of post-Evatt reset, with Wycombe and...

Never understood the GT disliking. Always gives 100% every game.

Do wonder who the twitter divs will move onto when he does go.

That energy is going to take some replacing.
They'll find someone - they always do.

Didn't Andrew Tutte play for us when we won the Lancashire Cup Finsl in April? Pedant alert. :-)

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Getting £1.2m for Thomason is great business for us, and should help in getting closer to being genuine title contenders. No way Schuey would sanction this if he wasn’t confident that it will allow us to come out of the summer stronger. Not sure it works like that. Clearly can’t turn the money down...

Re: Pre-season 2025

I think it's way too early to say these guys, who frankly, none of us had heard of last season are suddenly better than our previous captain, better than our previous 2 top scorers and better than lads who were key to getting deep into the playoffs, or winning a cup. I'm writing nobody off, by the ...

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

I think the trouble is she took her football counsel from Evatt. So when she asks ‘what’s going wrong’ it’s only natural to say ‘well I’ve not got the right players’. I'd agree with that but it feels like this time it's the other way round i.e. the sporting director is top dog with the manager seco...

Candid interview here from SB; https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/25319779.bolton-wanderers-chief-sharon-brittan-restructure-error/ Interesting, thanks. Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

From a clip reel perspective, there was plenty of woeful defending and space for him, but as with some of the other clip reels, for me, Schumacher and his team (or Fergal and his team if you prefer), need the space to do what they think might work. Like Bertie, I'm not looking for my boarding pass t...
