Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Not very good from 211-5 but what a knock by Gill. They did say there probably wouldn't be too many draws.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

For any fans of reading too much into social media content, there has been no sign of Lolos in any of the training videos posted by the club thus far... Heh. Yet strangely I'm sure I saw a Southwood. (I think it was him. I'm finding it harder to tell the young folk apart these days.) There's a rumo...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Tend to think you're right here, but it didn't stop Vincent Candela or Denis Irwin. Or more recently Tino Livramento or João Cancelo. Pfft. Did I ever tell you about the one I scored with my left peg, from just inside my own half? Can't play on the left my arse. We seem to spend a lot of time talki...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I suppose the question is, is Ceesay coming in as another defensive midfielder (in which case he's in direct competition with Simons, Thomason, Morley and Sheehan), which would indicate that we're likely looking at two holding midfielders to start... Or is he coming in as our new starting left back...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I put Sheehan into the central midfield pot because that’s almost exclusively where he’s played for us. That’s not to say that Schumacher won’t try him further forward, but did he ever try it last season? Genuinely can’t remember. I think it's the assertion that if we sign X & Y then A & B must go ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I think that's sort of part of my point - the contention was (from gun I think maybe) if we get Ceesay, we need to unload (one/some of Morley, Thommo, Sheehan).

Not sure that's correct. We could also unload plenty of players further forwards - I mean we still have Dan at this point.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Something down the sides would be nice! Still got a fair few to shift. Imagine Sheehan would be one, the oldest and least versatile of those midfielders, bit agree they probably all have their price. Sheehan's value is the one most likely to drop quickly. His contract ends in 2027 (like Thomo and M...

Not sure we need to hit the same squad compisition as the last few years. There's plenty of "attack...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I'd be surprised, and somewhat alarmed, if we go into the season with Hutch as second choice. Why is that? Is he no good? The few times I have seen him he looks decent. It's a fair question. Not seen enough of him here, but if a 22 year old GK isn't somewhere close to L1 football then maybe he's no...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

https://fotbolldirekt.se/silly-season/uppgifter-bolton-wanderers-vill-varva-jesper-ceesay/ Appears to be a 6’4” defensive midfielder - not the profile of player I was expecting us to be pursuing at this stage. Not the profile we want but definitely the profile we need. Depends how defensively minde...

In the end you're judged by what you do. If they were hired to help us scout bargains abroad, they turned up Szabi Schon and that's it. Unless you count JOT, who was born in Slough.
I think you're missing the point, Barnetto, could you possibly imagine Wycombe finding Szabi in front of us?

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

You can tell there were no transfers this week… Indeed. Not a revised formation picture anywhere! Was it this week they went on their pre-season jolly? This week it was the weigh-in and comparing new tattoos. The jolly (El Jollio) is next week. Ta! I look forwards to us picking up Frederico Veloso ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Why would you employ a - presumably - reasonably remunerated consultancy and not ask the question around where to deploy the resources. That's perfectly normal with the proviso that you're still on the hook for determining how you use that advice. I doubt Ludonautics were saying, "Ian, you're going...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Consultancies exist in most business fields - as external profit making agencies - whether their value to us/you is worth much is subjective. They had B3 Shares with no voting rights. When we bought back Hart's B Shares and Markham's, they were £10 and £16. On the data side - you don't get to pick w...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Nixon reporting BW have “split with” Ludonautics. Oh well. Thank god. Didn’t want them having anything to do with us. Any major reason, mate? I'm if favour of us using credilble analytics, just not them being "instead of," proper scouting, but "supplemental to." I'm not sure I know enough about wha...
