Sam comments, especially about plan B. Spot on.
Thomo Captain. He's been doing more of that for months IMO. Very often it's him talking in pre-game huddle etc.

3-0 Bolton, our poor form since NYD has been down to Craddock's coaching, should never have appointed him in the first place - just watch us go now !
Will you accept that if it's true?

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

I do think Evatt is a different case than some. Sometimes, you're seeing something where it's pretty obvious (as an opinion) that Manager X is getting you relegated. At that point maybe you do sometimes think "They've got to be out, if they lose this next one." I certainly don't dislike Evatt, perso...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

Controversial question: How many of us wouldn’t mind a defeat on Saturday if it led to Evatt being moved on? Overall I’d rather we won, but I definitely wouldn’t be too upset if we lost and it precipitated a change. Certainly don't want us to get beat, but I might see the possibility of more upside...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

There is a worrying (IMO) article by GT this morning in the BN about Evatt's style of play, why its so intricate and not like other League 1 teams - all preparation aimed at keeping the club in the championship (if we ever get there). That reads like a "no shit Sherlock." They need to add "difficul...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

Would league one Presley or Spearing get into the current side? Remember Pratley coming back at Fleetwood and making a big difference to get us over the line. Think it's doubtful, that Evatt would let them in, tbf - not sure either would know what to do with the other. I think most would agree that...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

feck me. Pratleys and Spearings. Both promoted out of L1 with Bolton in 2016/17? How many of our current squad can say similar? Not many, but then not many of our squad are players from the Prem (and on Prem wages) recently relegated from the Champo. Wheater and Beevers - on occasion maligned, both...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

Anyone answer the question - especially regular attendees, which player in this squad gets you off your seat? Who excites? There's quite a few who get me off my seat, but I don't think that's answering the question you're asking! I think about this one quite a lot, and TBF they're few and far betwe...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

^^ So you're not advocating "Just hoof it!" Either? I'm wondering where the just hoof it contingent actually are, other than in people's heads.... I thought Rotherham played decent football when they went up (<50% possession), I also thought Ipswich did ~60% possession. I can forgive 15 crosses we ...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

I'm just about beginning to get the scintilla of the iota of a whiff of an idea that we won't agree on this  I think there's plenty of space in the middle, when moving from the poles. Not liking possession football for possessions sake doesn't mean so lets go see what's available at the diamet...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

When did anyone suggest "let's have 27% posession?" I know we're in the age where we have to write "hot" on cups of coffee but I shouldn't have to fcuking add "to a White shirt" to "Get it forwards" I quite like passing. So I'll change it up to (Get it forwards with some intent and pace to one of ou...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

the thing that makes it successful or otherwise is results, not the possession stat. Well that solves that mystery - I was wondering why the league table stacked up like that! You and a few others including our gaffer, methinks! TBF it's little different than "if we don't have the ball, they ...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

He did, but he's a gobshite. We clearly weren't and I'm not going to judge him on it. For the same reason he wouldn't get a pass now if he tried to argue we're only a bottom 4 team. As for exciting, well it's taste and fancy, but if that's not for you (as you say, a not uncommon view on "modern foo...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

I did say there weren't many in L1 Y1! :-) I think our manager did mention we had the best team in the League, if I've got my years right! By L1 Y3, I'm struggling. Especially on "exciting football." Lots of goals against some whipping boys isn't my idea of it, and I'm pretty sure it would involve t...
