Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

1-0 to us tonight. 2-1 to us Tuesday after going 1-0 down. Charles tonight. Collins and Toal on Tuesday. You're welcome............. I have to say that's a bastard prediction DTM. The pulled it back to 1-1 bit is particularly evil! 🤘🤣🤣 2-0 to us, tonight. (They pull back to 2 all on Tuesday, before...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

Terrible weather darn sarth this morning but I'm still fired up for the match tonight. Hopefully the weather up north isn't so bad that it impacts our ability to knock the ball about. In a sign that perhaps the League One playoff semi-finals are not registering too much on the national scene, when ...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

Well, the big days here. We're Bolton, and Peterborough/Wednesday last year should confirm that nowts decided tonight, whatever happens. Sadly struck out, again, on trying to get tickets for this one, so a nervy day at work followed by watching on the box from behind a cushion. Time to step up boys...

The weather in bleakest South Yorkshire looks like it might be shite during the game tomorrow. Inclement conditions not typically in our favour of late…
Hopefully our sunny and pleasant spring day this side of the hills drifts over there by tomorrow! :-)

I was actually wondering given recent form when not injured whether he might have tried Vic and Collins, just to see how it panned out. :-)

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

Talk football. Talk Adeboyejo. Word is Vic may be fit to start. What say? Collins and Charles will start unless either has picked up an injury. If Adeboyejo is as fit as claimed there could be an argument for bringing Collins off the bench for the away leg. We’ve not really had any impact off the b...

I think you'd point to the wounded animal having nothing to lose, were we discussing it as I presented it's head on a spike, mate. :-) For me all bets are off, it's a cup game, they have decent players - they still finished 6th, alongside everything that went on, we absolutely should treat them as a...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

We concede most of our goals in the first half - 56% so pretty marginal, but 24% in the 5 minutes leading into half-time. Whether that's because we're shagged before the break, or people start thinking about the oranges early, I dunno. Our second largest concession period is the last 10 minutes at 1...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

I have me doubts, that we can keep that intensity for 180 minutes (or even 90). There will be ebbs and flows and we need to understand when they're happening and how to counter them...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

Keep thinking negative thoughts and talking about the past is non-productive. Clean sheet, fresh start and Barnsley are just another team in our league. None of the past matters, only the future. Lately, I read of a man who said, "Our best defence is offence. No matter how well you defend, unless y...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

I'm not sure I'm as comfortable with him holding everyone to account over a failure when there's still the chance of us NOT failing. He knws the players better than we do and maybe him telling them how good they are publicly and that we've been unlucky etc, is what the players need to hear? Maybe g...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

They've scored less, conceded more, have a worse head to head record, their last 5 were three losses two draws, they're on a temporary manager - dunno where else to go with it - that doesn't mean "we win," but it's not a bad starting point.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

There is too much talk. Too much ‘keeping of receipts’. Not enough ‘we are going to internalize this and come out and absolutely win every game we need to’. He's get criticised if he came out and said that This needs a healthy dose of management bullshit. We've heard the words, we now need the pict...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

Hypothetically, would you take a draw on Friday? How many ways could we answer this? Right now, it wouldn't be a bad result. Should we be 2-up and end up 3-3, I'd think we'd probably given them momentum, should we be 2-down and end up 3-3 I'd be pretty happy. Over "history" it's been fairly even......

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

You're playing the team in 4th, who if the seedings go to plan, you'd meet in the final so your foot comes off the gas and you allow them three goals? I'd be disgusted (of Tunbridge Wells) if that was the case. As it happens, I don't think that was the major part of what I saw on Saturday. I think P...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

The ‘general on the pitch’ thing I feel is a bit overstated. Iredale also seems to be a vocal leader who battles as hard as anyone. I think there are many ways to be "general on the pitch" which don't necessarily point to over the top tackles and shouting/pointing.. If you think about Kante or Modr...
