Re: OC says Marv to be given a chance this season
Poor manager, 1 bad season under the circumstance and you have the know how to label him a poor manager, you are so frustrating its unreal, mistakes can be made, he is manager of Bolton not Barcelona, Jesus, 1 bad season and you all label him a bad manager. Shocking! Although....I agree if we have ...

Re: Coyle on next season....
Nolan joined the Academy at 16 and graduated to the first team. That makes him a product of the BWFC academy. I'm not sure who else turned him into a Premier League footballer . The Liverpool Schoolboys team? His PE teacher? Or maybe his first kickaround with dad in the back garden? Jimmy Saville. ...

Re: OC says Marv to be given a chance this season
Ye coyle is our manager and Ye made some mistakes but the way you a lot talk about him is over the line in my opinion, everyone is entitled to there opinion but I read an article in the Bolton news which somes it up. Before big Sam left he stated he needed to reduce average age of the squad after t...

Re: OC says Marv to be given a chance this season
What do you want him to come out and say? That Sordell wasn't good enough in training to warrant a place despite our strikers not being able to hit a barn door? He has his reasons and this is probably the best excuse he could give. You might just be onto something there. Though its probably just be...

Re: Coyle on next season....
The point being that at no stage have we had an academy production line. Picking up players from other academies or ones who have been released doesn't count in my book as having an academy churning out players. You could say the same for all the much-vaunted 'production lines' at clubs noted for c...

Re: It's not just us "muppets" Fat Phil...
I think Bish made a good point that we've enjoyed our European campaigns and league success so it wasn't exactly all in vain. We shouldn't kid ourselves - half the teams in the Prem are in a precarious position every other year. But I certainly empathise with Okocha's statements. It's good to see he...

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
some on here really aren't grounded in reality with their lists of players we should get Indeed. We're in the Championship folks. The days of even 'B list' signings are in the past, especially with the 'promising youngsters' policy. Indeed. And people want to ship out Mark Davies because he's 'over...

Except perhaps "we looked at times fragile and not too sound tactically". I hope Owen was reading!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Love Gudni, but he doesn't seem to be saying anything that Coyle and Reo-Coker haven't also said.

Re: reo coker
I got the impression Reo Coker was practically playing a player manager role in the second half of the season. He seemed to be the only one taking responsibility. Not a great player but did OK for us. Very likeable guy.

Re: Coyle on next season....
I like a lot of what Coyle is saying. If he is our long term manager and these are our long term plans, then I have little complaints about the direction of the club. We do need to build a good, young team and then when we come to sell players on, replace them with another young player. It's the on...

Re: Sordell's contract
Blake and McGinley scored 25+ each in the championship winning season I seem to recall. I think McGinley had 33. Though that may have been in all competitions. Didn't he get a hat-trick against Tottenham in that 6–1 cup win at Burnden? BTW, I still have that game on VHS; I'm going to have a go at c...

Re: Finding this little gem on Youtube
Haha, this was fairly cringeworthy back in 1997 but now it's got a retro appeal. I never tire of seeing Super's chest-turn-volley goal against Wolves at the end there. Imagine N'Gog doing that? Me neither.

I like Mavies (obviously), but I can't argue with that.James B wrote:mavis is fine in a free role with no defensive responsibility. anything else and he gets shown up.
Davies isn't unique in his limitations though, so it's not beyond a good manager to use such a player properly.

Re: Summer Transfers Thread
Wouldnt surprise me if Mavis saunters off to a PL team. Wouldn't be a huge loss either. Totally overrated. Perhaps, but he's also our best and only 'footballer' currently fit. Overrated is more than good enough for us. Pratley chases shadows, can't pass, can't tackle - can't affect a game in any wa...

Re: Doomsday: Stoke away
Everything I hate about football summed up in one picture. Crouch is a cheating, talentless wanker. Correct. He wasn't going to do anything from there even if he'd got the ball, so down he went. Bit of devils advocate here: Is that any better or worse than the few times we've seen Mavies do it when...

Re: Summer Transfers Thread
Pratley can't even control a football and wasn't exactly highly rated by Swansea fans, from what I've heard. Awful player. I'd much rather see Vela or any given reserve player step up instead.

Munich tops everything for me, I doubt it'll ever be beaten as an experience before and during the game. I also forever remember that small period of time where we had quite literally the best player in the Premier League in Okocha, absolutely destroying opponents. The way he totally did Beckham an...

Where is D-Pratz in all of this? Hopefully being sold to Bury.
Personally, I'd play Sordell and... Mark Davies up front. Davies dropping off, like.

Re: end of season party
You also have to bear in mind that the majority of the Bosmans aren't Coyle signings. He played them, to a greater or lesser extent, but he didn't choose them. This summer he can mould the squad more to his desire. That might make some shudder... Now you've tipped me into depression stage, DSB. The...
