Re: end of season party
I'd have the fitness coach hoofed out. And a new No.2. And a new first-team coach. And the vast majority of the free agents. Year f*ckin' Zero. Nixon has just tweeted at a few people that we won't be bringing anyone in, I guess maybe apart from the Chelsea loan. So we may need to rethink how many w...

The moment I've always regretted missing was Michael Ricketts' winner at the Theatre. That must've been a real high point and years of humiliation exorcised. Oh to have been in the away end on that day. What on earth happened to Ricketts? He had it all and then promptly lost everything.

Re: end of season party
Does this guy ever blame himself? Even a little bit? HE is responsible for player conditioning. Our club should have institutionalised the excellence in sports science that Big Sam built. Thicko and Megson have probably pissed away one of our competitive advantages, just to give jobs to a tin pot te...

Re: It's been a while
My boss is an Ipswich fan. He's rubbing his hands at the prospect of "renewing hostilities". He's even invoked Jim Magilton, in the same way we might mention Super John to a Wolves fan. I'm looking forward to it in a perverse kind of way, assuming we can keep a decent squad together.

There where so many under Sam. So, so, many. I'll forever thank the bloke for the joy he gave us... It somewhat hurts then to say my standout is a moment under Coyle(not against Coyle, just that it doesn't fall under Sam); Chungy at Brum last year to get us to Wembley. The feeling of getting TO Wem...

I hope he's been doing his coaching badges because he may be caretaker manager by December

11 Great (and Not So Great) Seasons - Pick your finest hour
I was just looking - ruefully - at the league table this morning when I noticed Chelsea finished 6th. Then I thought "bloody hell" (or something along those lines), we actually finished 6th in the Premier League! The same position as a club that have spent over £650m on transfers and £1.2 BILLION on...

How about this one: Tal Ben Haim. Used to be a worldbeater for us, then went shit. Maybe Owen can work his inspirational magic and revive his career?

Re: Hi lads - Sunderland fan in peace
Thanks for dropping by. The Mackems make more noise when their team win a corner than most do celebrating a goal (or the League title, for that matter). Never heard anything like it.

Re: Doomsday: Stoke away
What a surreal 90 minutes that was. All a bit of a blur, to be honest. Just stuck shaking my head with a vague sense of ennui about the whole thing. I'm glad the season's over. Our form in the final third of the season was OK wasn't it? Unfortunately no amount of happy thoughts from the fans and bon...

Re: JUST FCUK OFF
Long-time lurker here, just got back from the match, and so annoyed that I've finally popped my posting-cherry! There's a quote that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results. That's exactly what we've all seen for over 12 months, and 2 t...

Re: So we've got a fresh start now
I'm really glad Kevin Davies had a bit of an Indian Summer and almost kept us up with some classic performances. Although we got relegated I think he went out on something of a high note. Now it's time for him to do his coaching badges and make way for younger players.

Re: wba at home
I've started to comprehend the tortured logic of Owen Coyle. Changing your shape, making defensive substitutions - they're the preserve of a manager presiding over a well-drilled, well-managed and highly organised unit. When your team is a shambolic clusterf*ck of chaos and pandemonium, no substitut...

Re: Five Stages
If we do go down, at least I'll have those away fixtures you've listed. I hate going to the London games in the Prem: it costs a fortune, we always get thrashed and it's more like a "brand experience" than a football match. So those trips will make a refreshing change. I think I'm still at 'bargaini...

Re: wba at home
do you know what ? feck it. clearly Coyle is damaged even if we stay up in most peoples eyes on here. and if we go down he's the anti -Christ. so sack him - get Neil Warnock in but i've just been chatting with a Pompey fan. at least we've still got a club Infallible logic there mate. We're being se...

Re: wba at home
I swear, had we brought on a midfielder or defender instead of Klasnic and Lee, people would have complained that we were sitting back and inviting the pressure. I think we'd have conceded regardless. That second goal came too early in the second half. We'd have seen it out had it been later in the...

Re: wba at home
Absolutely sickening to watch one stubborn inept man single-handedly ruin what others worked so hard to build over 12-13 years. Losing Wheater was a blow, but when you're gifted a 2-0 lead with 20 minutes to go, for the love of good just shut up shop man. Bring your tiring striker off and pack midf...

Re: Tim Ream - We owe him a honeymoon.
Didn't Okocha himself almost leave, homesick, in that first few months? But yeah, everyone at the club now is a dullard and they're doing it on purpose. It's a weird thread when A1's the plain voice of common sense. Yeah, that's exactly what happened with Okocha. And we let it continue with all our...
