Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Archer isn't going to do it every innings - so wasn't disappointed over all :-) He helped get us a foothold in that final innings which could have made a difference on another day. If you make space with Buttler going out, then you could of course play Wood and Broad if you wanted to. That tail loo...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Not sure (still) whether the toss was the determinant of the result. Certainly a strange one but, when you factor in some poor shot selection by England in 1st innings, some poor lines bowled by England in first innings, second England inning collapse (5-30?), afternoon session today (dropping Blac...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Now would be a good time... Slipped away a bit. Lost momentum after lunch. Buttler putting that down hasn’t helped. Trouble with the wicket is you need to consistently put balls in right areas and since lunch Wood didn’t quite get it right and it’s stopped swinging for Anderson. Too many chances go...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

England have found their bowling line and lengths. Now more than interesting this. There are no demons in this pitch but if you put it in the right place it’s tough.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Nice 50 from Crawley. Most fluent English batsman this innings. Plays the spin with attacking intent which I like.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeets

I'm in the "strange toss to bat on" camp, but was as much of it good bowling and some poor shot selection by us, first innings? Whereas they batted a bit better and we bowled not as straight. This is looking a good track to bat on right now, although bit variable on the bounce... Yep agree with all...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Oh goody. Denly 29 chips an absolutely nothing ball straight to the fielder. What an absolute sack of useless shite Denly is. There is not one justification for him getting another chance. He’s has a ridiculous number of chances now. He’s fundamentally shit. It’s proven beyond any doubt now.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Sibley not learning either after a lot of hard work and a no ball reprieve. Just awaiting Denly through the gate now... Denly looks solid and approaches 30...has to go on and make a century, we’ve been here too many times. Can’t fail again for me. It’s a good game now, all three results in play. Fe...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Three successful LBW appeals by them. What do these umpires do for a day job? Guessing like the players they can get out of nick after a long time off. They can’t even head to the nets in the build up. Must take a bit of time to get their eye in for judging LBWs at that pace. I'm not sure they can ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Windies batting on a sunny day, pitch dried out so not two paced anymore....bonkers decision Stokesy lad....bonkers. And Broad can do one, trying to pretend you never change your mind on the toss. When you see a tacky pitch, grey skies and rain in the forecast for a couple of days - you absolutely t...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Well, at 204 we're left to consider the maxim that we don't actually know if that's truly a shit tally until they've batted too. I suspect it might well be though. If we keep bowling on the pads or down the leg side then 204 is going to look tiny. Lacking line and length here compared to the Windies.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

The thing is yesterday it rained more than was forecast. Otherwise we might have been 50-5 yesterday. I get the idea about the pitch being hard and cracking but given both sides are predominantly built on pace attacks and not sure Bess will bowl a side out anyway it didn’t make much sense to me yes...

Further shit umpiring and it's 71-4
87-5 now. Batting lineup on paper looked weak and that is how it transpires. Still don't think they've been helped by the bizarre decision to bat first.....but there we are.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I'm thinking we might need a "COVID spike" in Southampton by the end of the day... They've a good bowling attack and I rather feel batting is more difficult on return than bowling. But still, how many chances are we giving Denly to show he's simply not good enough. I mean even for a young kid you'd...

He might have had the same weather forecast as every other bugger which suggested it was going to be Saharan weather :-)
Ha. Well rain being far worse than expected today means we got away with it. An hour or two mores play might have not been pretty.

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Do we know whose decision giving Edwards 3 years was? He looked far better than Zouma to me (though I think Zouma is a total donkey so not hard) but that's a lot for a 23 year old with not a lot of games. Was Phoenix involved then? Don't think he'd played much under Hill when he signed it. He got i...
