Re: Grabbing life by the bullocks. Oxford (H) 17.9.19 KO 8pm

Much better. All round much better. Better setup and plans. In fairness we tired but I suspect had we not would have won. As it is a draw fair but think they will be relieved to an extent after the first half.

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

The rest of the season is not a pre season. We only have what one player who is contracted to be here next season? Most are short term loans or deals. We aren’t building a side for the longer term. It’s about getting some results this season. Restoring some pride. Showing some hope for the longer te...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Also, I’m absolutely giving Hill 18 months regardless but his post match comments have somewhat scared me. He’s talking a bit like Coyle did. What we don’t need now is a project. Or a philosophy. What we need is to find a way to be competitive in games ASAP. Restore some pride. Get us looking forwar...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Good write up DSB. Also my feeling. People expected us to lose but not quite like that. Another thing to note that first half the midfield pressed far too high. That might be the plan in the long run but that was suicide. Often Bridcutt, Weir and Murphy were beaten by one pass to leave Rotherham run...

... And if we sit back and get battered 5-0 anyway, fans will have a moan then as well and say it's back to the bad-old-days. Hill is an experienced manager - I'm sure he'll work out what went wrong yesterday and what needs to be sorted out before Oxford and Sunderland. Hopefully, by the Sunderland...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

I think the fan attitude has to be that relegation is happening, and any improvement between now and then should be a bonus and applauded. I'd agree with that. Personally, I don't want us to set up to be hard to beat whilst offering nothing at the other end. We've had two seasons of that. It might ...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

I will say it concerns me that Hill thought leaving Lowe out was a good idea. You can’t leave a seasoned pro out in these circumstances. I do worry how naive he might be. It’s a huge ask to get results quickly but youngsters showed you can dig in and defend and have the right shape. Today we had non...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

It was the most likely outcome. A team of unwanted strangers thrown together were likely to take some beatings. And thus it happened. I will say there was some naivety on display today. Leaving full backs exposed having a midfield press so high up the pitch with no cover. Leaving three up front firs...

Hills pulled a blinder here - make some shite up about injuries, don’t put pictures of em training on. 1-0 win to the supers, Daryl Murphy off a Joe Bunney cross.
Having the police make a startement about an accident would be next level deception....

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

If we’ve only got two spaces left then I suggest a striker and versatile defender must be priority. Certainly if Daryl Murphy is injured as seems to be the case.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Thank god for Buttler. I think he madness to drop him. He’s naturally got more talent in his little finger than our top order. Sure he’s got to work hard at test level but he’s showing the right discipline last few games.

Was Burns trying to fool them by playing that club cricket, 2nd XI, 8th batter shot there? :conf:
Can't play the short pitched delivery. I'm not in the "Burns fan club" he's done better than the rest in the top order this summer but I shudder to imagine him on hard bouncy fast pitches....

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Root has a lot of work to do if he wants to ever be considered one of England's better batsmen. For me he has become very very loose technique wise - flashes outside way too much.

I think he's a very poor captain too though not sure who else could do it.

Re: What is our best starting eleven?

Some picked up injuries according to KH. Daryl Murphy not in any training photos so seems like perhaps one who won't play.

Also said some need further work before being put into the side.

Sounds like some young lads will be starting on Saturday still.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I'm somewhere in the middle. Anyone young who looks like they've earned a shot should be in. Sibley, Pope and Curran should all tour and play. Wouldn't be dropping the good performers yet unless we have to though, we haven't got enough! I think BWFCi is harsh on Stokes bowling, but it does seem obv...
