Re: Season Tickets 2021/2022

They've just announced annual parking passes at £159 a pop. Covers you for all home league and cup games - but if match-by-match parking is only a fiver a time, we'd need to play an additional NINE cup matches at home to warrant getting the pass instead... Has been a tenner for ages or at least was...

Re: Pre-season frendlies

Dixon’s distribution against Blackburn was dreadful. Don’t ask him to kick - he can’t. I’d agree with the assessment above he’s not exactly looking like a pedigree keeper.

What’s the situation with Gilks? Is he isolating or still injured? Id prefer him in next week but fear how slow he will be getting down !
Self isolating.

Re: The Olympics

Awesome performance in the mixed triathlon. GB still smashing it in the pool and more athletics this weekend. Finest moment so far has been the BMX. Never thought I'd ever be saying that! This..^ I remember the Brownlow brothers getting gold and silver ( Has Alaistair retired now? ) and this, like ...

Re: The Olympics

No-one said it was. Obviously they don't rock up every four years and think how do I do this again. But much like athletics it's a once every four years peak. It's not like tennis or golf where it's a nice addition you might try to go along and win but not the big thing. Yeah I get what you mean. I...

Re: The Olympics

Mental health wise, despite that strange rant earlier, we're only talking about Biles in terms of a once every four years Olympics (the likes of Osaka and Ben Stokes have been taking a break from sports that never really stop and don't have that scarcity). And Simone Biles competes in a sport where...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

So here a question for the group - now that figures are available (chiefly), how close were we to actually going / being allowed to go out of business? My view is that nobody can really answer that at any of the danger points without knowing whether there was a viable takeover possible OR people in...

Re: The Olympics

Anybody else got mixed feelings about Dina Asher Smith failing in the 100 metres and then pulling out of the 200 as well because she was a big hope of a medal but as she’d insisted that, despite warnings from the IOC not to, at the medal ceremony she’d be taking the knee on the podium? Maybe that a...

Re: Homecoming. Rovers (H) in pre-season, 31/07/2021, 3pm

I will say Johnston was outstanding today and his height never an issue. Looked class. Sheehan also. Baka gives us a totally different option. Another wide player will help though obviously Delf will come back one hopes for next week. I still think we could do with someone else in the mould of Willi...

Re: Homecoming. Rovers (H) in pre-season, 31/07/2021, 3pm

Evatt. There were loads more positives than negatives. I thought it was a really good game, high quality, felt like a Championship game if anything with the standard of play. I am pleased it ended up that way because if you win a game two or three nil against a Championship opposition you might be ...

Re: Homecoming. Rovers (H) in pre-season, 31/07/2021, 3pm

Thought we played very well. Got a bit unstuck when Blackburn changed their system combined with our change at centre half…but heck I don’t think we did a lot wrong bar losing our way a little bit for ten or fifteen minutes. Very very good going forwards. You can still see our weakness as teams pile...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

I genuinely struggle with that view, and I thought Anderson had said he couldn't afford it, some while before admin was triggered...It felt like he was trying to craft an "I'm a turn round guy" narrative, which I suspect would have given him some credibility with all the other Clubs in the sh×t and...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

Moonshift had a fixed and floating charge in respect of any monies owed to it by Burnden Leisure (BL), first created in 2002 and amended in 2003. This was security against all monies lent by Moonshift/Fildraw to BL that had eventually amounted to £185.5million. £170.3m of this was written off in 20...

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.

A quick note a propos of nothing other than that Josh Earl has been shunted from No.3 to No.32 in PNE’s new squad numbers. A left-back or left-sided centre-back who stands at 6’4” - a full seven inches taller than George Johnston, by BWFCi’s estimation - Earl spent last season on loan at Burton. Th...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

Interesting. Cheers. So we're headed off towards Dicky's Meadow again, would you say? No need to panic. FV have said that the imminent debts are covered and I see no reason to challenge that. FV have taken on quite a big commitment in the £28.5million they seem to have agreed to pay for the Group a...

Re: Season Predictions

12th-15th for me unless we can bring in two quality attacking players. Perhaps a couple of loans from our premiership neighbours. Our squad depth is much better than last season, however I don't think that we have brought anyone in to significantly improve the starting XI who finished last season &...

Pay on the gate now available for tomorrow against Blackburn. Club needs the support - get down there if you can!
