Re: Stand by to repel boarders. V Portsmouth at home, Tues 05-04 22. 8 O'clock.
I think the overall performance was a tad bland but a fair result. I'm not sure if that will be the last we've seen of Santos and Dapo. I think we have found our level in this league, I doubt with this current squad we could have gained promotion, a play off place was a bridge too far. With a few co...

Re: Still Wanderers related but quite old.
Thanks for the reply.
I have taken the pics with an iphone camera and downloaded them to jpeg. They're on the laptop but it was just a case of putting them on the web site. I'll be taking a few more as there are some real relics, probably not seen by many.
Regards Dennis.

Still Wanderers related but quite old.
Been sorting out the loft when i came upon quite a lot of memorabilia. I have two old scrapbooks from early 70s covering the promotion season from old 3rd div. Many old Newspapers including 53 Final headlines from BEN and one from our relegation season. Not too sure how to add pictures, any ideas pl...

I'm back
I'm back. Bought a Season ticket for the first time since falling out of the Premier League. Football did actually make me ill to a point where I had to give over attending. Had I not, I very much doubt I'd still be here. My mental health and family were more important. I have been many times since ...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Seems everyone is happy with these signings, and so they should.
Give a few if not all a game V Bradford tomorrow and with the spare weekend maybe arrange a friendly behind closed doors for Saturday. Match practice is whats required. Well done Mr Hill.

Re: The cheer us up memory lane thread
I've probably mentioned this a few times but, the funniest incident I ever witnessed at a footy game was when Bolton played home to Chelsea. I think it was a cup game. Where I stood on the Manny Rd paddock, a group of lads always stood behind us, we called them the Daubhill (Dobble) men. This group ...

Re: Administration and recovery
Hi all. Only posted once in the past few years, which is probably wise. Here's a little poem I put together. Clubs in crisis Now that’s a big relief A massive weight off the shoulder Our football club has been saved But still the problems smoulder Were not out the wood as yet But we start the season...

Re: The cheer us up memory lane thread
Not been on this forum for a few years but do read the posts. At this point in my life I feel I need cheering up after the debacle of recent times. I'm going back, way back to the League liner train. Burnley were the first set of fans to use this but the Wanderers used it soon after for their trip t...

Re: Season expectations
Get off to a bad start and the knives will be out.
As it stands, the squad looks good enough to get back to the Prem. There will be ups and down like alway`s but I would say at least a play off place.

Re: A poet and he did't even know it
Hi Quiff,,,,,,, thought you had long gone, nice to see your around. The book has made another thirty two quid so far and at the end of the Month money will be split between the two charities. The book, call it what you want I quite frankly don`t give a shite what a few small time folk think about it...

Still doesn`t warrant a police visit. Suppose none of the posters give Megson stick eh? plus a few on here already give Coyle some. Freedom of expression is dead.

Re: A poet and he did't even know it
You can call it what ever you like but before you do, get a few facts right. The book has benefited two charities, one the McMillan fund and the other Bolton Hospice. I have made nothing from this book, it cost a bloody fortune to get it published and had the club shop took it, all of the preceeds w...

Despite whether it was a free kick or not, the defending and keeping was shocking to say the least.

Football Rhymes of Passion( Grass roots and puddles)
As some may know, I have written many footie rhymes over the years and a few have been put on here which are now in the archive dept under Swillers Sonnets. Many have been telling me to get these poems published but I have never given it thought until recently. I decided to give it a go, but I strug...

Re: The Only way is Up? - The Gooners match thread
If the football authorities continue to allow players cheat their way through games I`m affraid it will be last straw for me. Bolton Wanderers have been my life and will continue to be so, but I`m so pisst off watching fraudulent over paid primadonna`s behave in such manner every week I no longer wa...

Re: The Only way is Up? - The Gooners match thread
Davies is no longer effective against teams as they know how to play him. Also he aint that quick neither. Van persie was a class above anything else on the pitch yesterday regardless off what fans think of Jussi conceding at the near post. What needs to be re-addressed are the soft challenges resul...

Gazza
Gazza`s first game in charge of Garforth Town of the Northern Premier League North. Today they travel to Crilly Park in Atherton to play Leigh Genesis. Admission prices are £7 for adults and £2 for under eighteens, £5 for senior citizens. A good alternate for those not bothering going to WBA.

Once again those imbeciles in the corner came out with the Munich chants. Whilst I hate Manure with a passion I deplore such disgusting chants. Those brain deads from that corner of the ground are the same dead heads ho chanted religious songs when Hibernian came for Jussis testamonial but turned so...
