Re: General Chit Chat

It's almost like there's a whole industry built up around faux outrage to make headlines and then headlines about the faux outrage to generate traffic. Middle-aged click-bait. Driven by the hard line liberals. Is it though? How many of these stories come to your attention with "I can't beli...

:conf:

On the one hand, I've never really bought the Chuka hype, was never a big fan and never thought he was the future of the Labour party.

Yet I too have left the Labour party and will probably vote Liv Dem next time.

So even by your standards that's an impressively weird take.

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

3 at the back would leave them more exposed, not less (or at least the one who'd have to play wide) as Mark Beevers proved manfully in the last part of the year we came up. And we've only *got* two strikers. Can't just ask wingers to play up front. Difference of playing back to goal is huge. It's a ...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....

There's nothing in his domestic policy agenda that "scares" me. Bit further left than me, but fine. What does scare me is a) his lack of judgment (probably the most important quality in a PM) and b) his international outlook and what that means for our international relations. I think I'd rather hav...

Re: What a load of bollocks.

Why mess with the format of one of the most popular ( family) shows on T.V.? Answers on a postcard to Craig Revel Horwood who apparently supports the idea. I mention it only because the topic arose on a dance forum I belong to. It'll surely never happen? Not sure how it messes with the format - sur...

Re: What is our best starting eleven?

xG and expected saves is not "science". One of the factors used in calculating xG for example is "whether it is defined as a big chance".

It's pseudoscientific hokum (though I understand the temptations of the view that it's there so we might as well look at it).

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Though that's the highest first innings score we've had this summer that's led to a win.

Twelve months' ago, when we said Smith's cricket career would forever have an asterisk next to it, this is not what we meant.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Aye, well played Jos, been poor with the bat this series but read since he came back only Root has got more runs. That average can't be helped by batting with the tail and having to swing hard to get us out of jail. Bairstow must be in trouble, we've got three keepers knocking on the door, he's not ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I'm somewhere in the middle. Anyone young who looks like they've earned a shot should be in. Sibley, Pope and Curran should all tour and play. Wouldn't be dropping the good performers yet unless we have to though, we haven't got enough! I think BWFCi is harsh on Stokes bowling, but it does seem obvi...

It's not rocket science - it's Geoffrey Boycott! Sir Geoffrey Boycott innit. :) He has a conviction for domestic abuse about which he is totally unrepentant and still casts himself as the victim. You won't catch me addressing him as "sir". (I'm sure he'll be devastated by my boycott!) You as...

Parking Eye are wankers (based in Chorley I think!). You might want to have a look at Pepipoo and the private parking ticket board on money saving forum. Basically the only way they can enforce it is to take you to court on a contractual claim (and one of the things they would have to prove is that ...
