Re: Tonight's Football

Fascinating to be alive in the time when we took the world's best game and decided to ruin it.

Re: Tonight's Football

Crowd at England v Germany Women's football tonight,77,700 plus. Just mentioning. I'm reading this wonderful book just now, entitled 'I Think You'll Find It's a Bit More Complicated Than That'. So, shall we break this marvellous 77,700 figure down into paying categories then? :D Was also billed as ...

Re: Will our guile make Plymouth rock? FA Cup 1st Round 9.11.19 KO 3pm

Funny one. I think we have to go strong. Momentum, potential money-spinning draw. But against a midtable League 2 team could be a good test for one or two of the younger ones and whether they might be up to it next year if we go down. I'd not risk anyone carrying a knock but otherwise full strength ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Have you seen his UFO documentary, Harry? "I believe in UFOs: Danny Dyer".

He goes around the UK and America interviewing people who've spotted aliens or UFOs. I wholeheartedly urge you to seek it out and find out if you haven't. One of the finest hours of comedy in the last decade.

Re: Tonight's Football

Enjoyed the inevitable final step in Pep Guardiola's relationship with goalkeepers as Kyle Walker did the final ten between the sticks. Few things better than an outfielder in nets.

Re: The Politics Thread

My thought process there was: Tango has said something there that is different to how I think but let's see why. But he is very defensive and takes almost any question as some sort of personal attack. There, I've rewritten it and hedged it and softened it and now surely even he can't be so thin-skin...

I'm amazed any Bolton fan is sitting there enjoying winning and not nervously worrying about how and when it will all inevitably go wrong.

 aye, very true. Seems to me to be more of him being a weirdo though. It seems a coincidence it comes one game after his Weir remarks and the criticism he got (those remarks included him saying not only would he sub someone after 20 mins but they he'd happily sub a sub). Next game and... Bingo....

^:if it's imaginary, I'll take that bet! :D I don't think they'll beat Labour for seats won but it's not inconceivable. The point still stands though - she should be included on any televised leaders debate Not a one of them could lead a thirsty horse to a trough. I'm leaning towards Boris being so...

Re: The Politics Thread

And me.

My MP is going to be everyone's favourite terrorist-sympathising anti-Semite, Lib Dems with the best chance of unseating him (albeit that's still practically no chance). All I can do towards my dream situation of a Labour minority govt with Corbyn losing his seat. That would be lols.

Re: Tickets

Bit early to start an Accy thread yet, so thought I'd lob this in here; 1,570 have been sold so far for Accrington since 9AM THIS MORNING! Roughly 884 tickets remain from the allocation of 2,454 2.5K away tickets? The entire place only holds around 5.5K Have they had the builders in? We could have ...

Yep. *SPOILER ALERT* Felt like they'd got a hell of a long way through the "Alien Memento" thing before someone asked why on earth the aliens were there in the first place. Then quick, shove in one line that they'll need help in 3000 years and hope for the best. I liked Sicario, will check out enemy.

Re: Rugby World Cup (RWC 19)

Some great stories about, particularly their captain, but (jinx, kibosh etc) I don't see us losing unless we choke, and with the mentality from Jones through Farrell down, I don't see that. We're just better almost 1-15. Obviously finals can take people different ways but it feels like the whole Jon...
