Re: Time to batter the fish wives? Grimsby (A) - Sat 17th Apr 12:30 KO
There's a pretty big difference between "it's not about results" and "it's not merely about results" which is what DSB was saying. And they're inextricably linked. Trying to play out from the back isn't entertaining if you give it away every time and get beat 5-0 every week. They aren't diametric op...

I thought about trying that on but, while I've never been to Derby, I doubt their ground is built downslope from "Winter Hill"
the cold gives it away.

You can tell I'd been at the pub given you said it was against Derby

I'm not changing my tune now!

Re: Dirty Old Town, Salford City (A) - Tues 13 April 19:00 KO
Good job 'nall Great win, Evatt can have the rest of the season for me. Coldest I've been watching the Whites since Stelios winner v derby in the noughties. Preach, brother. What was that, Derby at home? 5aside win, second half adjacent to the pub.. Defended well. I love this team. They can do ever...

Re: Dirty Old Town, Salford City (A) - Tues 13 April 19:00 KO
Four points clear, five games left. Morecambe can only get 81pts, Tranmere 80 - and that’s if they suddenly find form they haven’t had for months. Notwithstanding goal difference - and we’re better off there than the two teams chasing us - then we need 11pts from 5 games. WDWDW, or WWWWL. And with ...

Re: Remaining fixtures
Well I, for one, am quite happy for the shift to the earlier kick off time. It means a far more civilised time of 21:30 for me. Selfish? You bet it is and, you know, I don't care. 8) Whereas I've got my first 12pm kick off the season. I'd have been able to play, and then watch us. So I'm gutted :ev...

Re: Remaining fixtures
I suspect most others will be similar TD (though not necessarily). All games moved from 3pm Sat so they don't clash with Prince Philips's funeral.
Make it that what you will.

Too many knobheads on Twitter piping off, I hope he's got his mentions muted.
Shame it didn't work out but that poor lad at Yeovil shows that this stuff affects everyone. Good luck to him.

Re: Something in the water? V Harrogate, home, 3-0'clock Sat 10-04 -21
I think you're having an argument against something no-one is saying. We all want tempo in the final third, front foot exciting football. My point is that there is another team on the pitch, and what they do has a big impact on what you can do. By all accounts Harrogate came and had a go yesterday, ...

How did it work out for them?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:31 pmYou see the tempo Harrogate..,yes Harrogate.... no win in 5 near bottom of league two are playing with...well that. Is that too much to ask a team going for automatic promotion with ‘7 cup finals left’ to play at?

Re: Remaining fixtures
They were both at times when they had 10 or 11 behind the ball so I think that's still the risk. And you're right that's it's risk v reward but I'm not sure the balance comes out in favour that way. Firstly, we do try those. Thomason has that in him, and Santos tries it 4 or 5 times a game, they hi...

I'd toss a coin on Isgrove v Delf but same. Without Sarc we don't really play through midfield anyway so hard work out wide and let Marcus be Marcus.

Re: Remaining fixtures
We've also conceded 4 goals in 11 games. Don't concede and you can't lose. Don't give them the ball and they can't score. The big switch might open teams up but get it wrong and you are much easier to hit on the break. Forest Greens two best chances came intercepting attempted switches from Thomason...

Re: Remaining fixtures
Correlation =/= causation. It's a tiny sample size of teams who come and attack us, but the biggest point is it's out of our control. You can't make them come out at you, and anyone who looks at the squad of players we have, and our form over the last 3 months and thinks the answer is to start lumpi...

Re: Remaining fixtures
I mean that might have something to do with the other team trying to attack. What do you suggest, we nudge it forward from kick off, retreat to the edge of our 18 years box and hope curiosity gets the better of them?

"seven in seven" is a bit reductive given we, and everyone else, has a game in hand.

Doesn't feel like the yips to me. Performance against Newport was still very good. We win that game 7 or 8 times in 10. We didn't look nervy to me.
