Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

Aye - absolutely no-one's reaction after Oxford was that we didn't have talented enough players. Fake News! There was at least 1 (and I suspect a few more), not convinced by plenty of our players/squad - it was a pretty regular conversation in the latter half of the season as we wilted. That's not ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I imagine there's a WAFC-Ynsaen out there losing their mind. "£1.2m for a player who has only played more than 20 games in a season above L2 once, a walking yellow card with no right foot who struggles under pressure. The board have backed us financially but how do they expect us to compete signing ...

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

Aye - absolutely no-one's reaction after Oxford was that we didn't have talented enough players. It was "how the feck have our much more talented side not laid a glove on them". And the two overwhelming answers, in order, were: 1) Buckingham did a job on Evatt, we were one dimensional, no plan B, ta...

Let me know when we complete the transition from “none of these should be professional footballers” to “we can’t live without them” :D

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Quiz question: if he goes, who's the longest-serving player left? Johnston? Aye, contractually the joint longest server with one other. And his impending transfer was announced before the other mon's. Sheehan? The only other I can think of from that summer. On Tomo - he's a good enough egg but feck...

Re: How to add Twitter/YouTube content to the forums

Every time I add an emoji to a reply it appears as a question mark in a box. For example, when I type ‘I don’t know’ it comes up with the appropriate emoji, I select it and yet when I post the reply I get the box/question mark appear. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Try posting one here and will tel...

Re: Pre-season 2025

Agree, strongly disagree, agree (though he's as much a winger as he is a full back) - in that order :D Fcuk me, I'm confused. Is it "Taylor looks a decent player" - Agree "but I’m a bit concerned if we see him as first choice LB." - Strongly disagree "I’m also concerned that Tutu is being played at...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Think we're short here but not by anywhere near are much as the commentary team who thought you'd need 280-300. India big favourites but it won't be easy to get them. Not a pitch where anyone has scored quickly and it's got demons in it now. Big innings for Bashir coming up.

Question marks over Crawley and Pope for sure. Surely Bethell has to get a go in the series.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

They just need to be good enough in one series on fast wickets to attain immortality. You probably don't forget Jofra getting the Aussies jumping at home. :-) Didn’t win it though did we? Nor did he take many wickets iirc. I wanted to come back to this one, but thought I better check first. He took...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

A lot of that comes down to are they fit though. Archer was unplayable that summer. And if fit he can run in off no run up and be lighting. Headingly test everyone remembers Stokes batting but he bowled 19 (?) overs straight the night before to knock them over. Wood is quick and skiddy.. But you're...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Strongly disagree anyway. If they're all fit it's a very good (seam) attack.

But it's no use because they're never fit. And I'm yet to be convinced on spin!

Re: Pre-season 2025

I would be astonished if that was the case. New staff will absolutely have come with their own programme. Seems pretty clear we've previously recruited people who are made of glass, so Forester is no surprise. Dalby more likely just one of those things. Certainly not enough evidence yet to suggest i...
