Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Is Dempsey still our player? He has been hardly mentioned. Surely if he is fit after an uninterrupted pre-season, he starts with Xavier and Thomasson in a midfield 3 which would be really strong and competitive at this level.

Just watched this. Looks pacy and can tackle, and an eye for a pass.. and yes.. strong.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
My take is that we have put some players out there as being available even though they are under contract. Collins is one of them hence the leaked interest by a number of clubs. I believe there are other players on that list. Schuey has seen enough, not impressed, and is going to rebuild this team t...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
We do need a left back, especially in a back 4. Someone who can properly defend behind the wingers who don't/can't defend after bombing forward.. like Schon .. and Collins if he plays wide in the new dispensation. Last season we settled with playing Murphy there. He struggled because he is a CH, jus...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
A very important signing...maybe the most important gap we needed to fill. A physical #9 who can jump and head. Now our Wing Backs / Wingers can square the ball in the air and not only on the ground as they had to do because none of our forwards knew how to jump. Now our next important target... a l...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Lots of talk around Sheehan in that midfield. I for one am praying we get a bid in for him. He's woeful defensively and doesn't offer enough going forward. He's been a major factor in some of our losses last season, failing to put a foot in and constantly slowing the pace down to a crawl ( Baxter b...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
One more week then the window opens. I want us to sign a keeper (loan), a fast RB who can play LB and a CF who can head a football into the net and also hold up the football. Those would replace Baxter, Santos and Jones. Then we sell Shehan ( Cardiff may be interested), MaCatee (just not good enoug...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
LUTON Released: • Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu – 31, midfielder, won four promotions with them. • Amari’i Bell – 31-year-old LB/LWB who has, guess what, converted to also play LCB. Ex Fleetwood & Blackburn. • Tim Krul - goalie. 37. • Jameson Horlick - goalie, 22, revelling in the full name Jameson Edward ...

Re: 'None of the above': Who's your player of the year 2024/25?
Schon cant shoot to save his life, but is one of the few players we have that can carry the ball forward when he gets it at some pace, and not always looking to go backwards and sideways. I doubt Schuey will be looking to get rid of him, and I think he can play as a wide midfield attacker in this te...

Re: Division Three, 2024/25
Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but - for completeness - next season we are joined by Doncaster, Port Vale and Bradford from L2 and Luton, Plymouth and Cardiff from the Champo. L2 play off semis are Walsall v Chesterfield and Wimbledon v Notts C. Bradford were automatically promoted thro...

Re: 'None of the above': Who's your player of the year 2024/25?
Didn't realize that Schon got so many. I wonder what his role will be when we ditch Evatts system. He and Tutu are not really full backs but I can see where Tutu could be an attacking full back as he can defend. Schon cant defend so, no to being a full back, but as a winger in the new system I would...

Re: Pointing the way. Stevenage at home Sat, 3rd May 3-0'clock
Schuey's stats dont look good but when I think about it, he has had a shell of a side working with due to injuries. We have barely been able to find a team of senior players recently, so I will not read too much 1 on 11, no matter how bad it looks. I want to be fair to him. And today, even with half...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
The challenge will be finding buyers for Dan "Ivan Toney" Nlundulu, Lolos and CMG. Dan and CMG contract expire next year so they can go for a free. Lolos is on a 3 year contract I believe and therefore much harder to shift. This is not going to be easy as apart from the expiring loans, currently onl...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Thought about it for a while. I don't think there's many that could feel hard done by if they were potted this summer, but for what it's worth, my run down on the squad, divided into Keeps, Don't Renews, Transfer List and Listen to Offers: Baxter - wouldn't be averse to him staying, but would have ...

Re: Pointing the way. Stevenage at home Sat, 3rd May 3-0'clock
Finishing 8th is about par for this team. Thomasson, Matete, Johnston and Murphy were the best out there for us today. Missed 3 absolute sitters. Even with this soft team of ours we create lots of chances in this division. But we also concede a lot. God knows what Schuey can do about this in the su...

Re: Pointing the way. Stevenage at home Sat, 3rd May 3-0'clock
I hope we can signoff with a win. Cogley and Johnson back for this one but I would not throw both in given how well Inwood did. One change to the starting lineup for me. Cogley replacing Jones who should be brought on later in the game for his farewell.
