Re: Day after St Valentines day massacre? Bolton v Wycombe Home, Sat 15th Feb. 3-o'clock.

Both Hill & Flitcroft are basically pub team, old school managers. His post match interview on Saturday when he says that Wycombe made a tactical change (basically they played someone just in front of the 2 CB's) that we couldn't cope with was quite alarming to me, he basically blamed the players f...

Re: Not enough said Moore....

Based on Hill's utterances I also don't think he is the man to take us back up next season in League 2, but he has been dealt a bad hand so its only fair that we give him an opportunity prove us wrong.

Re: Not enough said Moore....

So Phil is now a top Manager .. smh. I still maintain we are not comparing apples with apples. I carry no brief for Hill, but I do remember us not winning a lot of games last year under Phil or am I wrong? I do believe both of them should be cut some slack due to the situations which one fell into, ...

Re: Not enough said Moore....

Cant get into the Phil vs Hill comparison. Give them both proper players then I can judge them. Phil was horrible with us but with a good side backed by money look at what he is doing at Sunderland. Hill does not have players at the moment who can compete with the best sides in League 1. We are star...

Re: They nicked our elephant....V Coventry away, 08-02-2020

Watched it on iFollow. First half Coventry showed that they were a team in the playoff position. Snappy short passing, running, high pressing. We struggled to get anywhere near them. Seemed like they had players running at us from every angle. We gave away a sloppy goal after moving the ball upfield...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

I always look for the unstated reasons instead of the politically correct statements eg.. player is injured vs really, the player upset the manager by attitude and is dropped..(smile). Was he really giving Darcy a rest? Anyway, my own view is that we should not play both Politic and Darcy on the fie...

Re: FV Recruitment Model

For me Hill is a big step up from Phil's predictable dull comments. However, his nobody on the same page commentary after Rochdale was disastrous, and moved him closer to the crazy line in my mind. Is he the one to take us back up with this model.. seriously doubt it.

As I recall it, Hill wanted Buckley to stay but Buckley refused the pay as you play offer on the table. Don't know what changed or who changed their minds.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Iiles is saying a "new" (his inverted commas) signing is on the way. Sounds like a returning loanee. Can only think Bridcutt? That'd be good, or maybe Verlinden. I believe it is Verlinden as well. He wasn't even on the bench in Stoke's last match over the weekend, having been there since he left us.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

One thing seems clear. Recruitment has been taken out of Hills hands and he says there are off field problems which have caused on field problems. He had always been the one who made decisions on recruitment in his career. This process now is new to him. What problems is he talking about? Peter Keny...

Re: Trotting over the Yellowbellies to three points - Lincoln City (A) 14/01/20

So Hill is now the fall guy. Mind you, he caused a lot of it because of his outburst last week so wont get a lot of sympathy. However, lets be real. We have been operating way above our earnings in recent years, and to correct that will cause a lot of suffering and reality check. We are under embarg...

Re: Up Hill and down 'Dale - Rochdale (A), 3:00pm, 11/01/20

Sounds like he was listening to "hear say" gossip hence his outburst. Poor managers do that. Get a grip and get on with the job Hill. You are doing okay so far. Dont spoil it. "Hill reiterated that he had the support of his chairman and the board, and when asked to elaborate on the criticism and its...

I can only assume Hill wanted badly to do one over on Rochdale for sacking him, and he has taken the defeat personally. An own goal but prepared to give him another chance. Strike one out of Three.

Very strange outburst by Hill. Not sure what's going on in his head. Apart from a very small minority, we are patient given the situation. Crazy stuff.

Re: Up Hill and down 'Dale - Rochdale (A), 3:00pm, 11/01/20

Outclassed in the end by a classy looking Rochdale side. We faded in the second half after starting it very well. We definitely need a more attacking left back as a lot of pressure comes on that side because of our sitting LB. Faal looked very gangling, off balance, head down but full of energy. Hil...

Good game. Not much difference between the two sides. We need more threat in the final 3rd. Excellent debut so far from Hamilton with Emmanuel also having a good game on the right. Need more from Darcy and Graham but we are still in it.

Seriously?? Do we read what we post??

Did not someone say "Keith Hill really is a Sunday League manager at best - he needs to go now as he wont get us out of League 2 next year, he's taking the piss."

Re: Brew Years Day - Burton Albion (H) - 01-01-2020

We really do take defeats badly. Calling for the Managers head. We clearly need to find a magician to manage our team. We had no players. We had no pre season. We miraculously got some players in 48hrs, most of whom were discarded by their clubs and unfit. We had to play with under 18s. We have inju...
