Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

Top 6 would be great but I would be satisfied with mid-table. In fact, staying above the dotted relegation line would be an ok season for me. Why..I believe we need at least 2 seasons in L1 to consolidate, build a strong 24 player squad, so that we are able to compete in the Championship where crazy...

Re: Wham! Bam! Thank You Ma'am! - Accrington Away - Saturday 11th Dec 2021 @ 3pm

We will lose by 2 or 3. We will concede first and at least one goal will be a very sloppy goal that should have been defended much better, Doyle will miss at least 3 sitters and not one of our corners will get past the first man and it will be a shock if we actually score. Our players will get tack...

Re: Loan Watch

Just picking up on what's been said - I'd just summise that Evatt isn't overly happy that DP hasn't signed. And I'm guessing January return is a no-go if he's not signed. Its not what I would do - just how I read the runes. I suppose giving up or not depends on whether the club feel their offer was...

Re: Loan Watch

The thing is he’s not a guaranteed starter in league two for PV. And wouldn’t be for us either. So a contract has to reflect that. If we could bring him back now we would. But January is when we can sign new blood too. I think as ever people get bent out of shape with it. Would he be good off the b...

Re: More Tin Pot Than Gold Cup - Jockeying For Position vs Cheltenham At Home (3pm 27/11/21)

For me, I blame the team rather than one player. We defend very badly as a team. It has been our Achilles heal the whole season along with our set plays. And that's why the top teams will beat us. They punish this our weakness while the lower teams pass up opportunities. Its not one player. Collecti...

Re: More Tin Pot Than Gold Cup - Jockeying For Position vs Cheltenham At Home (3pm 27/11/21)

I personally did not blame Gordon for the first goal. The second yes, as he lost his runner in a fraction of second as he thought the pass would have been intercepted by Aimson who went to ground. Where was his cover for the first when he was one-one with the attacker? Where was Xavi? Sleep walking ...

Re: More Tin Pot Than Gold Cup - Jockeying For Position vs Cheltenham At Home (3pm 27/11/21)

What a wonderful game of football. Players and Gaffer with the change of formation during the game deserve credit. Superb goal by Kachunga; Suberb passing by Thommo; Superb attacking by both full backs; Amiechi is some player. I hope we can keep him for the rest of the season. A point I never expect...

Re: Will This Sinking Ship Go Down With The Crewe? Crewe Alexandra (H) 12.11.21 8pm

Isgrove was excellent. Kachunga had a good game. Baka looked rusty but a presence up front which was welcome. We need more confidence going forward like Isgrove does. Its unbelievable looking at our corners. We tend to pass it backwards most of the times when we get them until it ends up at Dixons f...

Re: Pompey and Circumstances...V. Portsmouth away Sat 30th Oct 3.O'clock

Was Gethin Jones the glue that was holding it all together? I think some people on twitter and such are trying too hard, to be honest. We are bedding in Johnston and Dixon. Having three other lads in the back four who knew the system helped a bit, but even then we were ropey. Still, the lads in fro...

Re: Pompey and Circumstances...V. Portsmouth away Sat 30th Oct 3.O'clock

Without Jones and Sarce we are now a very average L1 team. We are now a one man team (Dapo), hoping for his magic to draw a game as we will always concede. I saw nothing encouraging today. Up front we had nothing, Delf, Hachunga and Doyle were all on vacation. Dapo could not manage the #10 position....

Re: Kent buy a win, 23/10/21 15:00 Gillingham (h)

I thought Dapo was the best player on the field by a mile. He showed real leadership driving the team forward and grabbing the ball after the 2nd goal letting the players know we needed another one. Seems to be our new #10 as I thought he flourished in the role when Sheehan came off. Isgrove, John a...

Re: Kent buy a win, 23/10/21 15:00 Gillingham (h)

If you think Brocky is bad at RB, put Baptiste there and I'm afraid you will see a redefinition of bad. I actually thought he was worse than Brocky at Plymouth in his preferred CB position. He chased shadows and was easily by-past. Don't want to see him experiment at RB which requires a lot more ene...

Re: Plymouth match

I think we will do better. We are wounded and Plymouth may see it as an easy 3 pts which would be a mistake. Baptiste at RB at his age makes me shiver, and he hates playing there based on an interview I read which he gave recently. Based on what we have, Isgrove is the best bet with Kachunga in fron...

Re: Bolton v the 3.14159265359....eaters 16-10-21

Evatt didn't sound confident before the match. He bemoaned injuries. The players were in hiding the whole match and lacked confidence. We dont seem to do well playing in front of our big home support and are more comfortable away from home. Last season after we got ourselves back in the promotion mi...

Re: Bolton v the 3.14159265359....eaters 16-10-21

The difficulty Evatt faces is that our recruiting was for his style of playing. Does he have the playing personnel to adjust to a more physical, direct style of Sam Alardayce team when necessary?

Re: Bolton v the 3.14159265359....eaters 16-10-21

Aye, Declan John. Good point. Starting to wonder if it’s going to become obvious why he never played anywhere else. Very disappointing so far. Agree to an extent on John, he might be our highest earner and he’s been very poor this season, however, he’s still better than a “good on his day” Gordon. ...

Re: Bolton v the 3.14159265359....eaters 16-10-21

It’s not like we didn’t create anything today, we had decent chances, hit the crossbar, should have had a penalty. Let’s face it, we were missing Jones and John who are key to how we play and when we are playing the best we need our best. I hope today and the aftermath doesn’t ruin our confidence. ...

Re: Bolton v the 3.14159265359....eaters 16-10-21

A reality check. Wigan are miles ahead of us. Not even close. We were outclassed all over the pitch!! Yes, I thought Brocky was lucky to get a contract and this proves it. Baka should not have started, very rusty and coming from a long lay-off. Sheehan, Sarce and MJ just never existed. Saw more of T...

FFS Ian Evatt looks the c*nt tonight
He had to go with brockbank, but Baka in front of him was reckless stupidity. Said at the start we'd get murdered down that side.
Have to agree with this.

Re: Bolton v the 3.14159265359....eaters 16-10-21

Easily the worst I have seen Bolton play this season. Brocky and Baka absolutely awful. Need Isgrove in the 2nd half for either one of them and maybe also Kachunga and take them both off. MJ has had an uncharacteristically bad game so far seemingly not to know how to position with Sheehan. Seems lik...
