Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
My focus would be on the playoffs.. Stay with Taylor to start at CB instead of Santos Morley instead of Sheehan Dempsey for Maghoma Cameron for Collins Baxter Jones Taylor Toal JDC Dempsey Morley Thommo WIlliams Charles Cameron Yeah, I know Evatts ego will not pick a side like this, but Posh will no...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Not being promoted is disastrous. I'd be happy (or very unhappy...) to be proved wrong, but I don't think it is disastrous at all. My prediction would be that not being promoted basically means we start next season in League 1 and try to get promoted then, whilst also trying to progress in the cups...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Aye, had a week off, got a week off afterwards. Play the strongest team without taking any risks. If Derby are 3-0 up at half time you can always take people off then. This. A million percent. It's effing sport. Play your strongest team all the time and try to win every game you play, or just don't...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Will Posh show their hand ? I doubt they will be playing their strongest and maybe instructions will be to get at Collins. Sheehan. Maghoma and Santos (if he plays) and soften them up (or injure them) for the play-offs. Also, if we play our strongest, they will assess.. ok, Bolton has put their best...

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
I've swung from optimistic about the playoffs to deeply pessimistic, I just don't think we can defend well enough and we're struggling to score from the millions of chances we make. It feels like there is an easy formula to play against us, put 10 behind the ball and try hit us on the break or from...

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
Feel pleased for Cameron and his goal. A good Pro. Its also nice when we score from a header. All season our wingbacks play in crosses on the floor to our forwards/midfielders which 90% of the time in my estimation are cleared. I guess the reason is that even although we have tall players such as Ad...

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
I am quite surprised how optimistic we are. Bolton really has some great fans. For me, we focus now on the playoffs because thats what it will be. Some minutes now for those coming in, some psychological work to win those 3 playoff games, get the niggles sorted out for our key players, and have a se...

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
We are already in trouble... and its not the forwards I am concerned about. Its the defense. Toal has played RCB, then LCB, then CB in the last few games. One days its Jones in, then Iredale, then its Forrester. We are not settled and I fear the worse if we dont have a settled central defense in the...

Re: Re: Twixt Cups and Lips. Home to Shrewbury Town, Tuesday Apr 16th 7-45.
We seemed too anxious, looking quickly to shoot at every opportunity without patience and played Shrews game, especially in the first half. Defensively, without our captain we looked very vulnerable. A good side would have cut this defense open today. Looked better in the second half with Maghoma th...

We take care of our business is all I ask. Every game will take a massive effort. I have been around the block too long to believe we "should" win 3-0 or whatever... The ball is round and games unpredictable. You can dominate and lose. That's why we love the game. Full of surprises. All I ask is tha...

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
Fabulous game of football. When I saw the team sheet, I was concerned about one thing. Jones over Iredale. My concerns manifested itself in the opening 10 mins. Kamara. I have watched him play before, and he is dangerous and pacey. Toal was covering Ogbeta too deep, and Kamara was able to exploit th...

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
Good game. Its on a knife edge. Can't call it but we certainly are looking dangerous and our defense is standing firm, having learnt how to deal with Kamara pace on the right. They are going down easily, so we have to be careful, especially in the penalty area.

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
Well Jones comes back into the starting line up. I'm a little surprised by this but its clear that Evatt believes Jones can be relied upon to offer exactly what he requires. I personally would've stuck with Iredale as part of the defensive three but I trust Evatt to make the right call. Lovely to s...

Forrester might be left behind for Morely to have more cover in Midfield.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 2:11 pmSo you're expecting Iredale at LCB and Ogbeta al LWB? I'd agree with that

Very risky Dibble. Too much at stake in this run in to not have Coleman on the bench.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 5:07 pmNlundulu will be interesting - certainly offers a different dynamic, maybe more for the following games. Might see a return to no keeper on the bench.

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
A point from the game would be minimum for me. We need to get something and not lose. A win, I would take that if it came but not feeling optimistic when I remember the game in December. We were outclassed save for Charles open goal miss after Bods header was pushed to him. I remember Yengi destroyi...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Winning all our remaining games is easy to say, but based on our recent form, is also highly unlikely. The good thing is that 75% of our remaining games are at home where we are stronger. Fingers crossed hoping that we will improve our form and win them all plus the playoffs. Evatt need to motivate ...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Cant see Derby dropping anymore points. Thought Wycombe away for them would be our best bet, but with them losing the final, it will be hard for them to pick themselves up having nothing to play for now.

Professional performance today, get the job done three points in the bag and move on. The importance of next week cannot be underestimated, win and I truly fancy us to grab second place. If we do end up in the play offs , looking at the other teams, I fear no one and would be confident of promotion...
