Re: Pre-season 2025

If I'm not much mistaken, that's a 4-4-2 with Lawrence and McAtee up top.

Re: Pre-season 2025

1-0! Warren. And from a set piece too. Doesn't really reflect the run of play. Tend to disagree. Game's seemed fairly even, neither side having great opportunities. We've not had a lot of the ball, but we've intercepted or tackled in areas we've needed to. Taylor's done alright at left back. Not se...

Re: Pre-season 2025

We lead! Charlie Warren knocking it in after we won the first header from a free-kick.

Re: Pre-season 2025

Taylor playing left back. Definitely a 4-2-3-1.

Wanderers Youtube feed is annoyingly reversed.

Re: Contract expiry

ACD at #2? That is, as you say, upsetting. Right sided, yes, but left footed and far too attacking for that number. Let's hope someone sees the light before it's too late... Otherwise, good sleuthing! I appreciate it, even if nobody else does  Maybe SS has visited this forum and thought "Feck...

I'll see if I can find one of the cottage they're staying in. Cheers. And would it kill you to rustle up a cottage pie? The 36 looks to me like Daeshon Lawrence (who last year wore 54), but as I say my facial recognition skillz aren't 'crack'. Probably just me and thee interested in this, DSB - buy...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I'd welcome Rankin-Costello. Good experience, very versatile. And would add to our increasing ranks of double-barrelled surnames and three-letter signifiers. JRC, TSL, JDC, JOT, ACD, CMG... technically also CFJ (Chris Forino-Joseph) and SSA (Sonny Sharples-Ahmed), though they're both known by their ...

Re: Contract expiry

Cottaging a thing on here? Very pleasant. Forgot about Ceesay. Has tended to be 21 (currently Forino) or 24 – currently open but may also be coveted by Johnny Kenny, who's worn it at Celtic and Shamrock over the last four seasons. But Ceesay might get here first... so maybe Kenny goes 19......

I actually saw an image of Xav Simons in training, wearing #24 on his shorts.

Could be a placeholder, like.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

He's got a good engine, he's versatile, he's rarely injured, he leads the team and he's shown loyalty in the past.

I'd be genuinely upset if he left - especially to a team we anticipate being a promotion rival.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

All slotting into place quite nicely. Left back is still the glaring hole - unless Conway's stock has risen so high that we're now happy with him as 1st choice, with Szabi and youth as back-ups, or Szabi himself is in contention with Conway as deputy? Similar at right back, where a JDC injury leaves...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Watching what Ceesay clips are available online, I'm not even sure he's left-footed. He's certainly very comfortable on his right, sometimes even seeming to prefer it when both options are available. For example, his only goal this season is a right-foot 20-yarder that might arguably have been easi...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I suppose the question is, is Ceesay coming in as another defensive midfielder (in which case he's in direct competition with Simons, Thomason, Morley and Sheehan), which would indicate that we're likely looking at two holding midfielders to start... Or is he coming in as our new starting left back...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Just told my daughter that there's bad news, that it looks like Luke is leaving.

She looked up briefly from her tablet, said "oh", and returned to her game.

Crisis averted, then...

Re: League One 25/26 - the Runners and Riders, or Schumacher's First Strike

If we have a start like last year, there's a fair old chance we'll get a finish like last year too! :-( There's already folk predicting Schumacher will be out by October and Darby installed as caretaker. And that's without getting into the new-kit brouhaha. New kit brouhaha? Ne'er mind. Just seen i...
