Job done.

Please update any links.

The forum is now accessible via https://the-wanderer.co.uk

no need for the /boards/ anymore.

I've left a redirect in there for those that have left an old link.
The redirect didn't work, but changing http to https did

If I hadn't heard of them before I'd have definitely thought it was April 1st.

Cute little buggers.
Qué? The link goes literally nowhere?
Because they are too small to see....?

This business of paying in some bizarre past or future way to cross rivers on a motorway might as well be written here in Sanskrit. I simply cannot visualize what you are talking about or how whatever it is they do could work.

Re: Science, Experiment, and the failure of Reality.

It once took me 7 hours to travel from M23 interchange to junction 10 (Leatherhead) on the fxcking M25... We were heading home oop north, but cut our journey short and stayed in the refuge of a friend's house overnight because we couldn't face another fxcking minute in the backlog of cars crawling ...

Not sure what it means but there's a very red sky northwards tonight, right over the Unibol. It's the truth. :|

Re: Science, Experiment, and the failure of Reality.

Thanks Monty and Dujon for the replies. I'll certainly take note and give everything a good look over. At this time of year, Tango, looking East (towards Yorkshire) as daylight fades you can see the summer triangle rising. This is the three bright stars, from different constellations, of Vega (Lyra...

Re: Science, Experiment, and the failure of Reality.

^^ Thanks for that Spots, it was a genuine question of interest. At night, when I stand in my back garden, I never know which way to face to find anything, and that damn moon won't stay still.I know the compass directions from here, but I'll check the sites you mention although it all still sounds ...

Lets hope he's having a party, not an operation!

Happy birthday, Monty.
Thanks, guys.
Quiet day.
I had dinner with the kids last Saturday so only my sister from Ottawa for the day.
Less drinking than usual but best to play safe. :D

Re: Enforced break (no pun intended).

Anyone heard from the old fella? Hope he's just kicking back and enjoying his rehab. The old fella was quite pleased about being allowed to put weight on his foot after two month, even though he had to do the walking with that huge boot. Unfortunately, the boot tripped me up on one of the rehab wal...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Did you like the subtlety in that? Did you even get it? Yes, but he is wrong. Only 2.5% of the population have an IQ below 70 and, as we discovered some months back, that 2.5% includes all idiots, all imbeciles and some morons. So I'd guess he was off by a multiple of 10 and the true figure is clos...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

How many boundaries you scored in an innings is not arbitrary - it's down to the skill of the batting side vs the skill of the fielding side. It kind of is though, and irrelevant as to the outcome of the match. If a batting side gets 24 runs off 24 balls in 6 fours, four sixes or 24 ones, which is ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

It was certainly an exciting final, but a strangely unsatisfying way to win. Both sides may have known the third tie-break rule but I doubt anyone thought it would come to that or had counted the boundaries before the super over. Like Dujon, I find it a bit weird. The game doesn't really lend itself...

Re: Tennis, anyone.....?

Undoubtedly so, though I've never been able to warm to Djokovic. I think he's probably the one who is the best of all time, but feel nowhere near the investment as with Federer or particularly for me Rafa. This best of all time strikes me as a bit over the top (and you said earlier the best 3-5 of ...

Carrots and seeing in the dark was a WWII propoganda tale I was led to believe :conf: Actually, Harry, you or your source are quite correct. WW2 RAF pilots were uncannily accurate at night owing to Radar. The rumour was spread that their great night vision was owing to eating carrots in an attempt ...
