Re: General Chit Chat

Great response from Hoover Customer Store, to my query I raised with them. My 5 years of Latin study didn't help much. Gentile Worthy4England, la ringraziamo per aver contattato il Servizio Clienti Hoover Store Online. La sua richiesta è stata inoltrata all'ufficio di competenza, riceverà una rispo...

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?

Hipster beer is like hipster coffee. A load of wank and to be avoided. An interesting point of view, but I'm not actually sure what "hipster beer" is. There is just beer. It's been around in varieties and flavours for a good while. Some is good, some mediocre and some downright shit. As it always w...

Re: Season 20-21

This League 2 stuff is going to be hard. I'm embarrassed to confess I had never heard of Forest Green Rovers or their hometown of Nailsworth. After a quick check I find they are the world's first Vegan team and have been declared carbon neutral by the UN. All this strikes me as strangely different f...

Re: General Chit Chat

Anyone got any advice on dealing with extremely negative people? Every time there is a problem at our gaff one senior member of management is head in hands dishing out the bollockings like the world is ending. At the point where plenty avoid them / withhold issues so word doesn’t get back. I can’t ...

Re: The Politics Thread

Just practising for my 2024 UK presidential bid..."I'm going to build a wall in the English channel and the French are going to pay for it" - What do folks reckon? I think it's a sure-fire winner. Now we have control over out waters, should be a piece of piss keeping all these illegals out. Get on ...

Getting a trifle fed up of all the outlets refusing cash payments these days, I really think they are working to abolish it. There are some places that no way I would give card details to nor trust their contactless system to be 100% secure, surely they have to accept cash by law, isn't it legal te...

R.I.P Big Jack Charlton. May God rest his soul. Not an easy man to like given the team he played for and his style of management but certainly someone to admire. Won loads as a player and adored by the supporters of the sides he managed. RIP wor Jack I watched him and his brother in the 1966 world ...

Everton Weekes, last of the three W's and the only man to make five test centuries on the trot. He was run out on 90 going for the sixth. A true cricket legend. R.I.P. When Weekes told Jim Laker he was named after his father's favourite football team, Laker said: "You're lucky he wasn't a fan of We...

Re: General Chit Chat

I had an email/phone consultation last week. Sent a message with an uploaded pic of an insect bite. Mrs Enoch walked in as I was taking a picture of me farmers. I've had no luck convincing her it wasn't destined for Grindr. I'm with you on Cuomo, Monty. He may be self serving but for me he's pulled...

No Virologist, me, but I'm far from convinced that we've reached stage three. Also, I remain fecking appalled by the laissez faire attitude being exhibited by so many in relation to social distancing. By way of 'new normal', by the way, I've just had my first ever GP appointment to be held over Sky...

What are people doing about holidays this year? Debating booking a cottage in Wales on air b n b for a week this summer. Risky?! Trying to find and confirm the cancellation policies! I've travelled far and wide in the last 10 years since retirement. Now I only leave the house once a week for grocer...

Kindergarten is the first year of grade school in Canada at around 4-5. Day care is what happens before that. So that’s our reception equivalent then! Grade school being primary school? What age do they go to secondary in Canada? It depends on the Province. In Quebec, primary school is grades K - 6...
